I bought a gaming chair at Takealot. Received the chair 08/08/2024. Assembled the chair 10/08/2024. Didn't even used it a day and the chair broke on the T-piece at the back of the chair, on the weld. First it was a hassle getting the chair collected. 6 days, getting messages every day to say that the collection has been delayed and will be rescheduled. I eventually took it in myself on 25/08/2024. I received an email from Kennedy, 28/08/2024 saying that my return has been declined due to negligence / user abuse. The chair wasn't even used one day, and it broke. It is obviously poor design, and the welding wasn't done properly. I have ever since sent emails and or call every day. I have numerous emails when I called in to say the case has been escalated. I sent numerous emails and called numerous times and NO ONE calls back or answers my emails. They sent the broken chair out for delivery to me on 29/08/2024, and I refused to take collection of it. Kennedy sent me an email to say that they will dispose of the chair if I do not take collection of the chair within 30 days. I rep**** to his email, asking for a proper report, no answer. I emailed him about 4/5 times with no reply on my emails. I have spoken to Ruchelle, Lizzy, Nadia, Kelsey and Kim. No one can give me proper answers. This is unacceptable business practice. I have been a client for years. This is the first time I return an order. The fact that they refuse to refund me on something that broke, (as a weakness in the chair) is pathetic. I bought a 3/4 bed last year Aug, and I have been complaining since the beginning about this bed making a noise, being very uncomfortable and the springs hurting my mom. I bought it from Chris who kept making empty promises, saying that they are not unreasonable and someone will get back to me. To this day no one has contacted me. It has been 9 months. Warranty was never explained to me on sale of the bed, and later Chris just said I bought a bed without Warranty. I have kept asking and following up and i am just being ignored. Messages are being received and read and not being answered. This is pathetic service. I have even asked to pay in more to get a better bed. No luck, no answer. I have cancelled one of the dependants on the 1st of May, giving 30 days notice. They refuse to cancel the dependant at the end of May and will only cancel it the end of June, requesting that I pay for May and June still. The dependant is going over to a new medical aid as of tomorrow and you are not allowed to be on 2 medical aids. Everyone I have spoken to in the call centre has assured me that the dependant will be off at the end of May. The call centre agent today said that it will not change and the other medical aid will need to move my date. I have phoned multiple times in May, because I do not get any correspondence back. When I talk to the agents it is either call back in 2 days then we should have received your correspondence or, wait for the correspondence, ensuring me that the cover will be cancelled at the end of May, because the original email was sent on the 1st of May. My medical aid nr is 001356353. The were very quick to take the dependant off when they did not receive the affidavit (within one day), but they can not cancel the dependant now
I am still waiting for Old Mutual to sort out my life policies.
I have been struggling for almost a year to get my life policy up and running again, after Old Mutual made a mistake and used the incorrect banking details for my debit orders. Premiums were not received on my life policy and no communication has been received by Old Mutual to say that the policy is behind. I was checking my bank statement for one of my other accounts and noticed that my life policy has not been deducted from my account. I have been in communication with my broker in Somerset West and they have confirmed on email that a mistake has been made by Old Mutual and the policy will be reinstated. This never happened. I have multiple emails to my broker, following up on when the debit order will be going off and when it will be active. Old Mutual then came back and gave me a ridiculous amount to pay to reinstate the policy. After communication to my broker he just said, well, you should have the money in your account....... He knows very well my husband passed away, committing suicide, left us nothing and that I am a single mom, I was highly offended and started talking to customer service myself. Moegamad January spoke to me and said that he would help. I sent him the entire email trail on the 2nd of July and since have not had any feedback, can not get hold of him and does not reply to my emails I have been speaking to multiple call center agents with no luck at all and no feedback. I have had the worse service from them. They are not even worth one star.
