I bought 7 bags of Marina Pools Salt at Kuilsrivier Superspar last week. The pool salt was full of debris, seashells, broken seashells and lumps that look like rocks with pieces of shells in it. The shells caused damage to my Dominator Pro pool cleaner as the shells got stuck and eaten away the rotor part causing it to loose mobility. The finer shells whens through the weir and the basket in the pool pump and clogged the fingers inside the sand filter. I will have to replace the filter sand and get the fingers cleaned. I have bought Marina’s Pool Salt on multiple occasions and never experienced this before. I have picture as proof but don’t know how to insert it on this review.

The Black Friday Special for Lancewood Cheddar and Gouda Mini Loaf was R89.95/kg. When I checked my slip at home I noticed that I was charged R114.95/kg. The products had to barcodes. The one showing the weight and price per kg which were correct and another barcode with no details on another side. On two loafs I was overcharged by R141.85 instead of R111.00 on the Gouda and R145.99 instead of R114.24. Total charged was R287.84 instead of R225.24. A difference of R62.59. It cost me almost R40.00 in diesel money to went back the following day. They refunded the difference without compensation. There excuse was “sorry we had a problem the cheese”. How many customers were done in by this that doesn’t even look at there till slips. This is clear negligence on Makro’s side and costing me more the go back for a refund Totally unacceptable! If i work out the price/kg now it was definitely not worth shopping at Makro.
I had secondhand solar panels added to my existing system by Solnet 2months ago. Yesterday water streamed out where secondhand panels were connected to my existing panels. I fully accepted that there is no warranty on secondhand panels. Although I was charged for labour and new pvc pipes to connect it to my current system. When I requested it to be fixed, I got a quote for R650.00 for call out fee. Also when I called I could hear a lady in the background saying there is no guarantee on secondhand panels, without even nowing where the problem lies. I did send here son a picture where it is clearly visible that the new pipes weren’t glued properly which comes down to poor workmanship! It has absolutely nothing to due with secondhand panels. I was charged to have it fitted and for the new pipes.
I bought a Karcher K7 high pressure cleaner at Makro Milnerton. The power nozzle sometimes works 100% fine and then it won't rotate as it should. I live close to Cape Gate and wanted to return it within the 7 days. They first told me I must return it to Milnerton which I refused. I told them there is absolutely nothing wrong with the machine but only the nozzle and if they could please just swop it around they also refused. They insisted that I book it in to be send the the vendor and could take up to a month. So I demanded a new Karcher then as it was within the seven days, they said no it is an accessory and is not covered under the seven days and also that I used the pressure washer as it is not still in it's original packaging. How would you know something is faulty if you don't open and use it? Just poor attitude by Makro Cape Gate's Customer Service Department. As much as I preferred Makro as my favourite shop to by I will not support them with this kind of service and attitude. I could have bought the same machine at Takelot, delivered free to my home and saved on fuel as well.
