I placed an order on Tuesday at 10:48 for a Click n Collect order worth over R28,000. I chose Click n Collect because I needed the equipment urgently. I followed up with the call centre later in the day on Tuesday and they said it can take 2 - 24 hours for a collection notice to be sent. This is not what their website said and I was expecting to be able to collect it in 1 hour as I live close to a number of stores in Cape Town! (https://www.istore.co.za/delivery-times) I was patient and allowed this to play out until the next day. When I had heard nothing I followed up on Wednesday and was told by a representative at the Cavendish branch that the items had been sold and they had sourced the device from another store with expected delivery that afternoon (the latest Thursday morning) but she would phone me back in 1 hour. Again, I had to remain calm because at this point I could have already received my order if I'd not chosen Click n Collect and had it delivered. I received no follow up call that day (or since!). I then chased again yesterday (Thursday) and received an email from the manager (Ashley) to say the device was still en route to the store and that they expected to only receive it today and that she would notify me as soon as it had arrived and was ready for collection. I rep**** to the email saying that this was unacceptable, and asked if the Constantia Village branch had stock (as I would have gone to get it there since I needed the device urgently) and that I wanted an area manager to call me before the end of the day. No response to my email and no call from an area manager. Today I followed up via the call center and was told that the items did arrive today and that Ashley is "prioritising" it and will call to try and arrange to have it delivered to me as I have said that I am no longer interested in collecting it myself. This service is completely unacceptable. The fact that Ashley felt it not only appropriate to ignore my email yesterday afternoon but to have sent an email herself in the first place rather than phone me to discuss the problem tells me all I need to know about the manager of the Cavendish branch and I won't be using that store ever again. I have still received no call - just a notice that my order is now ready for collection. They can forget it. I am done and the order will be cancelled.
If only I could make this a 0 star review! I have placed almost 200 orders with UberEats over the years and in many cases they have short delivered items or not delivered items at all. Last week I placed an order and they delivered the completely wrong item in one instance and didn't deliver another item at all (2 / 4 items ordered were a failure!). They are now refusing to refund me on the basis that I've had many price adjustments or refunds in the past. They're not wrong. It's their service that is just utterly useless and it certainly isn't my fault that I have to keep complaining about items that are undelivered or mis-delivered. It's always great though to be "accused of *****" by a company who has failed time and again to provide what has been ordered and then to withold a refund even after I provided photo evidence of the wrong item that was delivered. Account deleted and I'll never use UberEats again. Stay away from this company. I'm not sure Mr D is any better but I'll try there service again and see.
I was told that Capitec was the bank to use when travelling overseas as they are apparently the cheapest. So I loaded up my Capitec Mastercard with cash, let them know that I would be travelling to Mozambique and headed out with my family. Not only does Mastercard not work in Mozambique at almost all merchants and ATMs, but Capitec has placed a hold on two transactions that failed when I first got there and now they want me to try and chase down the merchants to get them to write letters that the pending transactions won't be settled before they will release the funds back to me. It wasn't the mechant's fault or mine, it was Mastercard and Capitec's fault and they rejected the transactions so why are they holding the funds?! It has been 10 days waiting for the funds to no longer reflect as pending so that I can transfer the money out! Capitec support is useless and I'll be closing my account as soon as I can get my money back!!!
It has taken Santam over 2 months to attend to a claim for my vehicle where someone drove into the back of it. Communication was non-existant unless I chased them for feedback. They have now turned around and refused to pay for a repair to the air bag module (my car now has a permanent air bag warning light on the dashboard) - claiming that it was unrelated to the accident! In what world is an air bag warning light that starts immediately after an accident not related to the accident?! So I am now meant to take back a vehicle from their appointed repairers with an airbag fault and obivous safety concern! Clearly any excuse to not pay a claim (this is my first claim) and I no longer have any faith that when it comes to paying out, that Santam will do the right thing. There have to be better insurance companies out there and I'm certainly taking my business elsewhere.
I was very sceptical about doing a large EFT to a company in JHB that I had never done business with before but from start to finish, Patrick and the team at Freshtec have been absolutely incredible. I ordered on Friday and received the products on Monday (I in Cape Town). When I called Patrick for some support with protocols on the Growatt he knew the answer immediately. Amazing company and service. I can't recommend them more highly.
Absolutely terrible worksmanship. Less than 10 months after supposedly fixing the issue the leaks started in almost every place they were supposed to have fixed. Instead of honouring their warranty they blamed other contractors who haven't even worked close to the primary leaks that have emerged, and when I blamed the contractor and he went up to take some pictures it became very clear the job done was absolutely atrocious! I wouldn't use A-Tech again if they were the last roofing and waterproofing contractors on the planet.
