One star is not enough for these. They don't deserve not even half a star. I have had a very bad experience with the Laptop Shop. It has been so bad even up to now, I have not received the laptop or my refund. If you have to tread with them, chances are that they will not deliver to your expectation or will not deliver the product at all. I started engaging them in April 2020 to order a laptop which I urgently needed for my work. The then Web Sales Manager called Jay (Not sure if it is the real name) was attending to me and assured me that I would receive the Item in 5-7days. But I waited in vain. I was taken from one story to the other. From the shipping company having issues to the product being out of stock. I gave them a benefit of a doubt as it was during level 5 and level 4 lockdown. As time went on, levels changed to one, there were still stories. These are people who don't give the customer feedback, who do not return calls and expect you to call them. They rarely respond to emails or WhatsApp messages. To cut the long story short, i asked them to refund the money I paid. Again it was stories of approval and accounts department not remitting. It was not until February 2020 when I received a call from another person called Shaun who claimed to be the owner of the company and was no longer working with the previous guy called Jay. He assured me that as the owner of the company he would take the responsibility to refund me and then deal with his former employee. Trust me people, the so called owner of company has taken me into one story that leads to . He even asked me for my account details, but to no avail. He begged me to remove the review on Hello Peter and google review. He has stopped picking my calls or responding to my WhatsApp messages. You can tell that he reads them and chooses to ignore. Next month, this issue will be turning one year and I will not give up on my hard earned money. The problem is that these people think we owe them the money when we choose to buy from them. Yet they are forgetting that we equally work hard and budget to procure the items from them. If there is anyone out there who can help me retrieve my money, please inbox me.
One star is way too many to give them. I engaged the laptop shop at the time of Covid19 level 5 in April 2020. The guy was so nice, who attendedto me and very convincing. Until i transferred the money and hell broke loose. I never saw any delivery from 3 to 5days till it was six months. I was given one story after another. They will not get in touch with you until you call or text. I decided that they refund my money. It was stories with approval and the accounts department being slow etc to management approval. They assured me got my account details like all was well abd that they would transfer soon. Today January 2021, im still in limbo waiting for my money. These people have now changed contacts, opened a new website, using a new number. I stay in another town, i asked someone to look them up in Capetown, and the address they use, you will not find them. Im not sure how genuine the 5 star ratings are but these guys have actually scammed me. They are sweet talkers and will convince you to believe their lies. Ive dealt with Jay, Sam, Micheal, Philip etc. How genuine these guys are, i do not know but they are good at lies and fabricating stories to keep you leveled up. I was told one time that someone is bringing the item, please expect them the next day. Then that person went off and there was an excuse that she got Covid19 and then led to another story. What have I not done to have my money back. Ive written on this platform before and they requested for me to have it deleted but i told them I will not delete the review till i was paid the money. If there is anyone out there who can help me retrieve my money, i would be grateful. People like these guys need to be checked, they can't be allowed to continue scamming money from people. Times are hard, and for one to reach out to purchase a laptop then there is a dire need. And these guys should just be let loose just like that. That is not fair. I cant just forget about the money i paid, its a lot of it. And I need it. I am just warning the public to tread carefully with them
I wrote earlier about the Laptop Shop concerning how poorly they have handled my issue. I write again to complain about them. I paid to purchase a laptop on 20 April 2020 and they convinced me that regardless of the lock-down, they were still able to ship the item. I approached them on the basis that most shops were not operating and so could not purchase over the counter as laptops were considered as being not essential at that time. Additionally, the old laptop had problems and died just at the wrong time. This created a lot of anxiety as I was now getting behind with my research work.... being a student. I paid for the item and waited week after week. The Laptop Shop gave me excuses, one after the other. Until it was August when i decided they refund me the money i paid for the laptop they did not ship seeing we were in level 2 and 3 and there was nothing that yielded from their fake stories. Trust me this is October, and I have not received my refund. I curse the day I ever involved myself with these guys. They are full of stories, yet they don't act on their promises. I am telling them to pay the money back with interest because they have been using my money since April 20th. They have bad customer service, they will not call you, they don't reply to emails and texts. Be careful when dealing with them. I just hope they are not scammers.
I wish i can not even give them the first one star. They are the worse. They are thieves. I have been dealing with the Laptop Shop from April 2020. I realized that they were not going to deliver the laptop i wanted from the excuses they used to give me. After that, I requested that they refund me so I can buy else. Trust me me up to now, from August, its been one story after the other. Three week ago they claimed to have transferred the money to my account. I never received anything and I asked them for a proof of payment. They have failed to provide the proof of payment, they don't reply to my texts and they don't pick up my calls. This amount we are talking is R11,700. I'm a student who has been in dire need of upgrading my laptop and I fear these guys have swindled me out of my hard earned cash. I am still putting up a fight with them. I wish i knew about this web, I could have avoided engaging them, but I just learnt of this web today. I don't know if they have taken advantage of me a female, or student or because I'am not in Capetown were they are stationed making it difficult for me to visit them physically. I have a strained family relationship now because my family cant believe they have not responded to my requirement. This is not a genuine company.
