My cheque account was in arrears for a couple of months. I then started repaying it at R500 per month. As it was in arrears for something like R6500 I thought it would be better to use the funds I have to slowly pay off the arrears and then bring it back to a normal account thereafter using the overdraft as per normal. I had brought it down to i think R2500 or R4000 cant really remember. I think I had started by November or December of last year . Anyway just as I was about to make my payment in March they completely removed this account from my profile with no warning and after I had made a promise to pay arrangement with them earlier. I was paying off my Gold Credit Card with a limit of R13000 at R100 per month to the Standard Bank Account directly. This was also per arrangement with Norman Bissett and Associated who still insist they were instructed by Standard Bank but which I have several times confirmed is not the instructed debt collector. I think I kept to that payment arrangement for more than a year when they removed the beneficiary from my profile without my permission. I was also unable to recreate the beneficiary. I one Friday afternoon called MBD Collection services, which is supposedly working with the matters but is not connected with MBD Attorneys , about 10 times and nobody picked up the phones at that business. I have several times called them afterwards with no results. It seems Standard Bank wants me to pay a company directly that is not even instructed. I am very concerned about fraudsters after the Experian scandal. In my opinion, Standard Bank is exposing its clients to fraudsters by creating all kinds of confusion about who is supposedly working with their accounts, When I challenge them with facts these people always change the story. I have told them 1.That Mbd works with the collection Answer 1 debt was sold to them Answer 2. Mbd instructed them to do the collection Answer 3 MBD is part of them. The collection department refuses to give me their email addresses to that I can clear this up and receive documentation. Therefore I am unable to pay Standard Bank as they removed all means by which I was paying them. The person that spoke to me at the collection department was also extremely rude.
I applied for this insurance for my Mitsubishi Mirage older than 5 years not financed and under R125000 in value. In my own opinion I should be a very low risk: 1. +- 20 years continued insurance 2. Zero claims in all my years 3. Low crime area 4. Parked in a garage behind a closed gate. 5. 48 y/o male with no accidents in the whole period. However the quote I got was R1100 with a R3500 excess or R950 with an excess. I then settled on R250 for third party insurance only. I was not insured for a period . But cant see how this would affect my risk that much. If i dont pay premiums i'm not insured so 0 risk for them. In my opinion the whole outsurance essential ad campaign is false adverti*****t. Clearly outsurance is with my quotes not even trying to be affordable or cheaper than normal insurance. Or does the commision they pay sales agents have an effect. Dont know wont recommend Outsurance to anyone.
I can remember at one time registering for this service probably 10 - 15 years back. However, it still deducts money under club 3m mobile and I cannot find any service delivered by it. It was a cellphone service delivery company. If I can remember correctly the services they delivered are no longer needed by most cellphone users. Being replaced by free apps on Google Play Store. They should either stop their activities and cancel all debit orders or be tracked down and prosecuted. Or provide services to cellphone users.
