App**** for building loan. All costs and BOQ's submitted. 9days before we started building an assessor finally came out and determined that according to their system they now work on 30k a square. We are expected to build to window level and they will then decide if they will finance the project. No problem I cancelled the building loan. Was sent a statement with a due date for payment being June 2026. I responded on the email stating that I will pay the 12k odd end of May to cancell the bond. 1 May 2026 a debit order of R6170 goes off my aco**** without notice and the amount does not reflect any amount on the invoice / statement received. So Nedbank can simply access your bank account and take money from it as they wish?! After emails and calls to every contact I can find a lady phones stating it was part of the settlement to close the bond. How is this possible? I tried to talk to them by cutting off the garages which will in effect cut off 60squares we will not build. They refused support and takes money out of my account without authorisation. Surely this cannot be legal. I have been wiating for an updated statement for over a week - no invoice, no updated statement just 6grand missing in action. No response to date despite more follow up emails and calls.
Sandra Eloff was amazing and Ooba helped us secure the building loan we needed to complete our dream. When dealing with home loans and building loans - Ooba is a no-brainer!!! Thanks again Sandra!
Received a call (Call centre) and was advised that I qualify for better data and talk time. I asked if this is an adjustment or w new contract. They assured me it's not a new contract. I'm on a very expensive contract that only has data and call time, no device. I want my current contract to expire so I can migrate to something better. The next day I get a call from an insurer who insures phones asking if I received my phone. Then I get an sms from SafeBase to say they will be deducting R149 from my account every 15th of the month. I never agreed to any of this and certainly didn't get a device. I phoned and emailed to cancel this and Elite mobile advised I should contact SafeBase call centre. That means they gave my bank details and personal details to a company (SafeBase) which is not directly related to Elite mobile. This is a serious breach of the POPI act. I received an sms that SafeBase has been canceled and then on the 15th they deduct R149 from my account and advise that there is a 20day cancellation period so I'm liable for the charge. I never agreed to this service!!!! They then advised in writing that I will get a refund if I didn't agree. Fact is I never did and they cannot prove that I agreed - how i this even legal and that means my personal detail and bank details are shared without my permission. Elite mobile doesn;t take any responsibility, yet this is a result of their call centre phoning me. Do not trust this company and do not entertain their call centre at all. You will be at risk.
Giving these *******s one star is already too much. They debited R149 form my account without authorisation, that after I didn't take the mobile offer (I think that call came from EliteMobile) - I was even called to offer me insurance for a device I didn't get. Elite Mobile and SafeBase are both ****mers. Do not entertain their calls at all.
