I am being harassed by Vodacom. I do not answer unknown numbers. I call the number back to see who it was, but in this case the range of numbers (+27 10 495 7???) do not ring or answer. The caller does not leave a voice message. They call me on average 3 times per day and once on Saturday every day for over a month. This is working out to be over 100 calls. If I do not answer the first ten calls, what makes them think that I will answer after 100? On one occasion I was outside and my wife answered. The caller said that she was from Vodacom and agreed to call back after 30 minutes. She did not and I received none of these calls for a few days. That shows how honest and reliable they are - they call me three times a day, but not when they promise to do so. This is not bordering on harassment - this IS harassment. And the funny thing is, is that I have just upgraded my contract, so what are they trying to sell me?
My wife ordered a parcel from China at the beginning of this year. Due to the International Lockdown, the parcel could not be delivered. Eventually the tracking code showed "expired". No-one in Cape Town or China could tell us even which country the parcel was in. We gave up ever seeing it. Suddenly, after SIX MONTHS, she received an SMS telling her there was a parcel waiting for her at the post office. We were so impressed. Six months - no tracking code - no-one knowing where it was - and it was delivered. Well Done and Thank You.

Being a pensioner, I am very careful with my airtime usage, receiving about R350 per month on contract. I was shocked to see my airtime draining rapidly away. Suspecting “airtime theft” I waited for my itemised billing and then investigated. To my horror I saw that I was being billed R20 PER DAY for “Online Content”. It had gone on for 55 days. R1100.00 of my hard-saved airtime. It was taking R600 per month – I only get R350, so it was well on its way to cleaning out my airtime.

I went to Vodacom and was told that I had “clicked on a link and subscribed to on-line gaming” (something about WASP was mentioned). I would never knowingly do this.

Vodacom are taking my money each month and paying it to the rip-off artists involved but according to the person I spoke to “are powerless to stop this from happening.” All they can do is to deregister my subscription. As for a refund – forget it.

After I was deregistered, I received two SMSs telling me that I was no longer subscribed.

If Vodacom are aware of the situation, are powerless to stop it from happening and can unsubscribe me so quickly, then why can’t they at least SMS me to tell me that I am subscribed to the service?

They tell me TWICE that I am not registered but are strangely silent when I unknowingly BECOME subscribed.

I am convinced that Vodacom are involved in this scam and in fact are getting a cut. Hence their willingness to take R20 per day and give it to another company without bothering to check with me if I am aware what is happening or even notify me that they are doing it.

I subsrcibed to this compnay and after a while decided it was not for me. I cancelled my subsrciption about two years ago. Then I saw that I was still being debited my subscription fees. Emails to them don't work. There "Call me" system doesn't work. I went to the bank and had a block put on my accoubt. That worked for a few months and then the deductions began again. Back to the bank for another block - and so on it goes. They are still deducting money and I can find no way to stop them.

Stay away from Instastocx

Having joined Instastocx and not made a profit, I tried to terminate my contract.
I did not want a refund - just want to get out.
Several months of leaving messages on their website for them to contact me lead to nothing.
Eventually I contacted Support.
They gave me the email for their Legal section.
The Legal section pointed out that I am not entitled to a refund and must contact their Admin section.
A week followed of mailing the Legal section daily for the Admin email address lead to nothing.
I again contacted Support and asked for Admin's address. No reply.
It seems I cannot get out of this company - they are quite happy to take my money monthly but will not provide any service other that that.
Last year my late father's car, was stolen in Cape Town. In January, I received a call from the Grahamstown police to tell me that the car had been recovered there
As the driver was putting in petrol at the time I assumed the car was drivable and made arrangements to go and collect the car from the police in Grahamstown
While we were at a second hand parts shop (Auto Clinic, Grahamstown), buying a spare wheel, the cylinder head gasket failed
I asked Mr Arnold Jattiem if he knew of anyone who would buy the vehicle. He said that he would buy it. We agreed on a price of R4000. So far he has not paid me
I gave him the vehicle papers I had with me. This included the vehicle release papers from the police pound. On my return to Cape Town, I sent the remaining documents: Death Certificate, etc to his PO Box.
Despite many phone calls to him, he did not collect the documents. Eventually I had to call his office landline number because he does not answer my cellphone or a Cape Town number on his cellphone
The last time I spoke to him, he told me that he had already repaired the vehicle and sold it to someone else
In March, the documents were returned to me by the Post Office
