One star is still one too much. I received a call this morning from some unknown attorney stating that Netcare has handed me over for collection of outstanding debt. They required my email address - this is after one spends a whole day filling out hospital forms with multiple repetitions of my mail address. Now I have received an account by mail which I am unable open with my ID - the code required as stated in the mail. My problem is, since my wife went for a day procedure 12 March 2025 at Unitas Hospital, I have not received a single account for any outstanding amount. BUT I HAVE BEEN HANDED OVER FOR COLLECTION! Complete with unknown attorney banking details. I pay all my accounts conscientiously. I do not like debt. Being handed over for debt that I have not received any notice of and that I am totally unaware of is completely unacceptable. Netcare, your accounting system is a disgrace.
I have been a big Defy supporter over past years. Friday evening 6 December I became aware that the freezer of my double door Defy FR DFF436 F740 bought on 27 Jan 2021 was not freezing anymore. Saturday morning I took all actions as described in the Defy manual, but nothing helped. To my surprise I noticed in the manual that the unit had a 5-year warrantee. I contacted the retailer Home Hyper City, mentioning the warranty and they said they would come back to me. I got no response until I called them again on Monday, when they said I should contact Defy on 086 100 3339, which I in fact already contacted via whatsapp on Saturday. The response I got from Defy on Saturday was that they operate only 08h00 to 16h30 Mon to Friday, so I waited. I waited because according to the manual, the unit was still under warranty. During Monday morning I had a lengthy discussion with Defy via whatsapp. Defy insisted that the warranty is 3 years only, while my Defy manual clearly specifies the warranty is 5 years. Defy failed to convince me that my Defy manual was not valid, and in the end I gave up out of frustration, still convinced that the Defy manual warranty should be honoured. My problem is that due to Defy's 5 year warranty certificate in the manual, I waited for two days for repair under warranty, and lost a portion of frozen food waiting, despite using precautionary dry-ice. If the manual was clear, I could have responded quicker by getting private repair services sooner. The fridge/freezer is up and running thanks to a helpful and responsive repair service, RFF Appliance Repair (not Defy) after replacing a burnt-out freezer circulating fan.
Nupower installed a new 200l geyser with solar water heating system in October 2016. All was working well until two days ago when the geyser tray collapsed, damaging the element heating connections as well as the drip tray outlet pipe connection. At the time of installation the geyser supports were not located on support beams and the tray was supporting the geyser until the tray ultimately collapsed, damaging the geyser element. Extremly poor workmanship and NO quality control on installation. I actually called them earlier this week to fix but due to their quality of work, decided to use an alternative contractor to do the repairwork.
I ordered a fridge from Home Hyper City on 26 Jan 2021 because my present LG fridges has cooling problems which I am not prepared to spend any more money on. I ordered a Defy from Home Hyper City because I was under the impression that it would be delivered within 2-5 day as per their website. After I made the payment it turns out there is no stock and no firm delivery date could be given. I also distinctly selected shipping to my address and the webpage order indicated free shipping. According to Home Hyper City I would collect myself. Now there are costs additional to the price I based my buy decision on. I really think this is misleading. Furthermore, stock levels should be indicated on the website so the buyer can make an informed decision BEFORE paying the supplier.
