NuPower Solar no response on aftersales maintenance work request. I think this company might have closed down as i have sent them details of the repairs required on the 2 solar geysers they have installed for me in the past. All information was mailed to them 4 June'25, and resent a number of times to info@nupower.co.za and pierre@nupower.co.za as well as to lynn@nupower.co.za without any response to date. I would like to know if there is another company that is working on their equipment that can assist in the repairs required.

We had a NuPower Solar Evacuated Tube Solar Water Heating System (24 tubes, 200L geyser, circulation pump and controller) installed in 2012. We visited their offices, got a full explanation of the system, got it installed, and read the manual. Now, over 10+ years later we can safely conclude this has been one investment that keeps on saving us cash in spite of ever-increasing electricity prices. Seriously consider getting yourself a system. And ask them for the 12V pump system to beat loadshedding once and for all.

We visited their offices, got a full explanation of the system, got it installed, and read the manual. Now, over 10+ years later we can safely conclude this has been one investment that keeps on saving us cash in spite of ever-increasing electricity prices. Seriously consider getting yourself a system. And ask them for the 12V pump system to beat loadshedding once and for all.

Nupower installed a new 200l geyser with solar water heating system in October 2016. All was working well until two days ago when the geyser tray collapsed, damaging the element heating connections as well as the drip tray outlet pipe connection. At the time of installation the geyser supports were not located on support beams and the tray was supporting the geyser until the tray ultimately collapsed, damaging the geyser element. Extremly poor workmanship and NO quality control on installation. I actually called them earlier this week to fix but due to their quality of work, decided to use an alternative contractor to do the repairwork.

The ONLY reason I am giving this company 1 star is because there are no minus stars available. After writing my previous review they contacted my husband, came to collect our inverter so they could fix it. Now despite us sending WhatsApps, trying to phone and sending emails we cannot get hold of them, even though they have our inverter (for over a month now!)

The ONLY reason I am giving this company 1 star is because there are no minus stars available. After writing my previous review they contacted my husband, came to collect our inverter so they could fix it. Now despite us sending WhatsApps, trying to phone and sending emails we cannot get hold of them, even though they have our inverter (for over a month now!)

This company make no attempt whatsoever to give their customers service. We bought our inverter from them in November 2020. In 2022, the batteries started failing, so we took it to them early December for repair. They took it in saying that it couldn't be fixed before Christmas. They returned it, in February 2023, after charging us a hefty amount, saying that they had replaced the batteries (and although they say anything they had dropped it because the box is damaged!). And it has not worked since they returned it. The charge lasts for approximately 30 minutes (used to be 4 hours) and this from supposedly new batteries (2) They do not answer WhatsApps, or their phones or reply to emails. We don't know what to do!

My client had problems with her geyser and NuPower did the installation so they contacted them again to come and fix the problem having worked with them before. If I tell you it has been a nightmare that would be an understatement. NuPower did not take down the SNs for the old geysers and also could not provide the Sns for their own new geyser that they put in. When asked to issue a certificate of compliance for the geyser they had replaced they not only took about a week and a half to make the necessary arrangements to do the certificate but went to the clients premises and did additional work - meaning their work was not compliant to begin with! When we asked them about this they said they do not need to do all the stuff unless they get asked specifically for a COC, as far as I know (which has also been confirmed by others in the industry) the work needs to be compliant from the get go! Shocking. Not only do they try to defend themselves on not doing a full job they still have not sent the COC and its been 3 weeks since its been requested. To add the cherry on the whole cake they damaged my clients property and at first refused to fix it because we had taken too long to report it (this was 3 weeks or so after they had done the repair). After a long fight they eventually agreed to fix it but "only in January". The last straw was when they went to make the fixes to issue the COC and my client asked if they can take the old geyser out of the roof and the worksmen that were there had the audacity to have an attitude with her and say they will not because just now they damage her property again. I am shocked at the service here. Don't bother contacting the management either, they don't care and won't get back to you.

I made a decision when moving into my new house 12 years ago to install a solar heater for my geyser. NuPower was selected due to good feedback from friends. Recently I reported a fault that needed immediate attention as the system was down. Frikkie was quick to respond and within hours of the call Retz pitched up to correct the fault. Imagine my surprise when Retz confirmed that he was the person that had originally installed the solution 12 years ago! He was quick to diagnose the problem and get my system operational again. Apart from the great service, I would personally recommend NuPower for the fast response and professional attitude in maintaining my system.
