We had such a great experience with Snappy Chef Pretoria! January 2026. They assisted us immediately with a Travel Induction stove that we bought 18 months ago in Western Cape. The stove had a fault, and when we asked for assistance, Snappy Chef sent a courier to collect the stove, repaired it, and within a few days, delivered it to us via courier! Thank you so much! It was easy to communicate via Whatsapp.
Wonderful service from Takealot! Never thought shopping can be so easy. Mostly when we order anything, it is delivered the next day, even on Sundays I have always been afraid of online shopping, but ordering from TakeaLot is so quick, safe and wasy.
ESKOM We all complain about Eskom & the constant load shedding. But, do we ever consider the uncer*****y of the thousands of Eskom workers amidst the threat of job losses? We have a farm close to Colenso, Kzn, between Colenso & Winterton. Extreme and constant lightening strikes are a problem, as the Eskom Pylons cross the road close to the one dam and the house. It often happens that we are not on the farm during such lightning strike and depend on Eskom to sort the problem out. This week we had a massive lightning strike that destroyed most of our electronic equipment, including internet modems. Although the fault-logging to Eskom seems cumbersome, with no operator to talk to on the other side, it actually works well and you are provided with a reference number. In most cases, the Eskom team from Colenso, Kzn arrive on the farm very soon after logging the fault. Yesterday the power was restored very quickly, but when switching the power on, the Eskom transformer at the house exploded! The Eskom team was amazing by quickly ordering the replacement unit, with two trucks transporting and installing it. Although we said that it will be fine to do it the next day, they went out of their way, working well in into the night to ensure that the power was restored. We are very impressed with the Eskom technicians, who are amazing people completing a task, working together as a team. This was very effective team! Over the years, several Eskom employees assisted us with problems, and what dedicated and special people! Spending time with the team yesterday, my husband, Marius, talked to them about many things, had time to get to know them, even looking at one guy’s eyes for Iridology purposes and health analysis. During the conversation it became clear that as much as South Africans feel insecure about the uncer*****y of the Eskom power supply, more so the workers fear to loose their jobs. Despite the stress and uncer*****y they experience, they never take it out on the client, and perform the service with a friendly, positive attitude, doing their utmost to get the farmer going again! It is sad that such a giant like Eskom, with a strong CEO, can not escape the major effect of corruption ! What a responsibility and balancing act for the CEO to keep the lights on, dodge the theft and find a way to still pay salaries to their loyal and competent staff. Dr Trudie Bartholomew-vd Vyver
