We are from Joburg, we visit Umhlanga regularly and we make it a point to eat at Circus Gateway. We recently visited and were excited to find Circus at Umhlanga Village on Cartwell Road. The menu was regular and fancied the pork ribs that were quite pricey for 500g when compared to other restaurants that have ribs as a speciality. Our disappointment was when we were presented with a bill with had a Tax charged separately and when we inquired, the waiter could not explain what tax it was and she claimed she was not aware of it. We also explained that our surprise was that nowhere in the menu it says the quoted prices do not include Vat which we thought was ******* in SA to not highlight that fact. So, my advice, anyone visiting Circus, please check your bill and what taxes are charged after the fact - for us, we will never been seen there again, they seem dodgey.
It is a month since this company took R699 and delivered their useless device and sim that has not been activated. After calling twice or trice per week for the past month and posting on Hello-peter with an empty apology and another promise to address the problem from Mosa, the truth is there is still no service. I am giving up, looking for a new service provider and will be demanding a refund which from what I have read from other posts on this platform does not come very easy. I am wondering, why are companies like this continue to extort money from unsuspecting customers and they continue to trade with no consequence. Please be warned, Rain Internet Service Provider is a scam.
Be careful if you take MTN device insurance. I upgraded and renewed my contract and made biggest mistake by opting for MTN Insurance with MTN Melrose Arch, instead of my regular home insurance with OUTsurance. I have been trying to make a claim since November and every time I’m told they are dealing with it. When I asked to deal directly with the insurer no one is prepared to share their details. Ultimately, one of their employees advised that I should go back to my old insurer without going into too much detail. I am so disappointed as I have been a customer with MTN since the introduction of cellphones.
This service provider does not deserve a star. I am beginning to think this is a biggest scam with no shame. For three weeks after receiving the router and sim have not been activated and all agents telling you the same bull**** story with no shame. I know their CEO is leaving end of Feb, I think they just collected new subscriptions for the month of Feb without providing a service, what a cheapest way to fund your business. I am encouraging all aggrieved customers to lodge a complaint with the Consumer Council and also Icasa, this is shameful customer service. I hope they are shutdown soon whilst they continue to advertise a service they cannot provide.
