Please be very careful of what outsurance is selling you when advertising their premiums from their ads on tv. On the 05/08/2021 I was involved in an accident and informed my insurance on the accident scene. I was then told by the insurance that they cannot assist as I am on a limited cover. The shock on me and also thinking the nerves from outsurance ? I asked myself how can they do this to me? I was paying them R800.01 on my monthly premium but according to outsurance that covers for a limited cover which covers theft and hijacking. I then requested for them to roughly estimate how much I could be paying if I was paying for the comprehensive cover that I thought I had signed up for with them. The consultant's response was that my comprehensive cover will cost me R2822!!!!!! I just couldn't believe what she had told me and mind you my car it a paid up car from 2012 ,Hyundai i20 ?I then asked how much does a person who drives a BMW,MERCEDES OR AUDI PAY?I was not answered and did a bit of my research on their current clients.The ones who drive Mercedes and I was surprised they pay around R1800 to R2200 ?I then asked myself how was my premium calculated kanti??? I have decided to take this to the Ombud for further investigation . I am very disappointed at their services and I will never ever join them again whether for home insurance,car,etc and doubt my friends,colleagues and family will ever use them after what they have put me through. Again and Again I will never be ashamed to tell people that what outsurance is selling on their adverts is a BIG FAT LIE. OUTSURANCE IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!! Stay as far away from them
Oh Where Can I even start ,First Help is over charging and misleading!! I was in an accident Thursday the 05/08/2021. The guy from First Help came to tow my car away immediately when he arrived from the scene. He did not tell me it is more expensive when he tows it to their yard in silverton. I couldn't even read the small print at the back of the paper on the accident scene as I had a passenger that was injured and screaming for help and it was my first time ever in an accident and had no idea of what he was making me sign for . I called the guy on a Sunday to collect my car and he responded that they do not open on weekends and public holidays.I then asked him how much it will be he said R10 000 ,I couldn't believe him as I thought he was joking and mind you it was a long weekend and shocked at the fact that I can be charged that much from Hatfield to Silverton? on the 10/08/2021 I received an invoice of about R12000 plus. I phoned to ask for discount. The lady at the head office called, Lerato Oh that lady is so ill mannered, she said that they can only give discount when the amount is over R18000.00. Wow. Mind you that their strategy for them to keep your car with them for longer and sell if after when you can't pay them. These people also do not open on weekends but they charge for storage,security etc. I then called for help from the towing association where a guy by the name of Tony was kind enough to assist in negotiating with them to give a discount. I eventually took my car on the very same day as they also charge a day in advance. To be honest I am glad I did and when my tower couldn't make it on time I was told to take my car outside of their yard. Their treatment is so poor but I learned my lesson with them and not in a million years will I use them nor my family,friends and colleagues. First Help take advantage of your situation. Worst part my car sign on the bumper and fog light I saw the guy putting them in the car but denied it there ,now I had to buy new. I repeat I will not recommend them AT ALL!! I repeat I will not recommend them AT ALL! Even if they are first on the accident scene. Rather phone someone for a second you know or try get quotes from towing companies and also request to tour your car to your place rather . Or even leave your car on the scene provided it safe. Very disappointed. First Help is no option in times of despair.
I am writing this hoping it can be seen by the organization and the higher authorities. I don't want to sound like an ungrateful human being lord knows I am grateful for the organization for funding my tertiary studies,food,stationery as well as accomodation. For that I will forever be grateful. For the past months I raised I concern of a refund that was left in my student account for the academic year 2011. The reason for me to request this refund which was left in my account was that I had hoped to use the funds the following academic year to fund my Btech Degree which I ended up doing later on with another institution. Fast forward to my request for a refund from the institution and for them to refund me will be for me to produce a letter from my bursary informing them to release the funds. But I have been denied that letter from Ceta as the bursary officer believes it the money that should be refunded back to them and not me . My question to the bursary officer was that how can funds that were due to me especially for my meals which I had to make plan for them at the time because my bursary paid late and now it due to the bursary scheme because them issuing that letter will create a bad audit finding? I am so disappointed on how this matter was handle and how the resolution was just take it or leave it.
