It was my husbands birthday so we decided to try out Elephant & co at Pavilion Westville. When we got there, the staff informed us that they are not a children friendly restaurant so there is no baby chair for my 7month old and no menu for my 4year old. Then the guy tells us that he cannot give us a cushioned seat due to us having kids because we can leave the baby to sleep on the cushion which we could never do in the first place because the seat wouldn't be comfortable and the baby could fall, we didn't see the logic. We still decided to stay to try out the food because our 7month old can be on our lap or arms if asleep we didn't find it a problem. After motivating that we not using the cushioned seats to leave our kids to lounge on, we get the desired seat. while awaiting the arrival of our meals, the staff are over our heads, watching us like hawks to see that we do not use their seats for the kids so it does not get messed or damaged, we were also warned that my 4year old must not put her feet on the cushions even though she was not disruptive or mishandled their property. When our food arrived, with a baby on my lap I mistakenly dropped my fork which hit my leg and fell to the floor, the staff came running to me checking the cushioned seat to see if I hadn't messed it. I did explain it fell on myself she asked me rudely to pick it up from the floor which I was already doing. They were extremely rude, unfriendly, unpleasant, with no customer ethics. We felt extremely uncomfortable and regretted staying to try out their food even though we had a mouth full about having our kids with us before we were even seated. The food was tasteless, one was overdone with cold mash and the other was underdone with extremely hot chips. Worst restaurant I've been to and certainly will not be returning with or without my kids.
On 14th May 2021, I went to dischem pavilion to complete my toiletries for my hospital bag as I am currently pregnant. I was at the till with my husband when the teller informed me that an item is only on special of the same color which I had two colors off. I then went back into the store to change the item and as i got closer to the till to pass this item to my husband, there was a honey display table at the entrance of the store which had honey droplets on the floor obviously not visible, being 35weeks pregnant at that time I slipped and fell on the honey falling frontwards. No employees of dischem assisted me. They called a cleaner to clean up the mess rather quickly before a scene could be made which we got photos off. The manager came some time later and stood at a distance watching Pavilion pandemics assist me and has made no communication with my husband and I since. I have been sending emails to dischem and making numerous calls to dischem head office pertaining to their negligence and bad manners of their staff and hadn't received a response since. I just got a verbal apology on that day and no signs of remorse or acknowledgement of their negligence. Never expected this from a big company like DISCHEM. Really disappointing.
