Failure to Deliver by GH Custom Aluminium & Carpentry owned by Gustav Hoekstra
GH Custom Aluminium & Carpentry, owned by Gustav Hoekstra, has failed to supply and install garage doors for which we paid a deposit. We entered into an agreement with the company on 19 November 2025 for a property we are building at Eye of Africa. As part of this agreement, we paid a deposit amounting to 50% of the total cost. At the time of the agreement, Gustav Hoekstra undertook that the garage doors would be delivered and installed by 12 December 2025. In the period leading up to this deadline, we remained in continuous communication with Gustav Hoekstra. He cited delays but repeatedly assured us that he would honour his commitment. Despite these assurances, the agreed deadline passed without delivery or installation. As of 11 March 2026, no garage doors have been supp**** or installed. This experience is shared to caution anyone considering doing business with GH Custom Aluminium & Carpentry, owned by Gustav Hoekstra, of their failure to deliver and constant assurance that does not amount to anything. We continue to pursue a refund from Gustav Hoekstra as we have cancelled the agreement due to their persistent failure to deliver.

Appalling after sales service from Mit Mak
We bought a car from Mit Mak Motors Gerrit Maritz Street in Pretoria on 22 March 2024. We were assisted by their Sales Consultant, Edward Magane, and must admit that the service before we took delivery of the car was great. When we collected the car on 05 April from the dealership, it had no spare key. Since then, we have been chasing the dealership, through Edward and Naas Rossouw, the Branch Manager, but we still do not have the spare key. What has been irritating is that when you speak to Naas, he indicates that Edward is dealing with the matter, and same when you speak to Edward, he indicates that the matter is with Naas. They also do not bother to keep me updated on their progress. I am the one who needs to constantly call them to check progress with the key. I once suggested to Naas that I should get the key and claim the money from them. He refused, indicating that they have they own supplier for spare keys. Having said this, one would have thought they would have cut the key from their supplier, but they haven't even bothered to do so. I last spoke to Edward just over a month ago, and nothing since then. I've now cut the key myself, which was not cheap, as it is not advisable to drive a car without a spare key. I will never buy a car from them, ever, and would not recommend them to anyone. For them, it is all about making the sale, anything beyond that is none of their business!
