I was refused delivery of an item I've already paid for because they don't know who the person on the property, behind a locked gate was, and they need to verify that, by me providing my full name and ID number, or showing my ID to a complete stranger. I'm not sure how every other delivery company can deliver without such stringent personal verification methods, but I regret not paying the extra R100 to order from Takealot or literally anywhere else instead. Save yourself the trouble, just order from somewhere else. The delivery individual was perfectly polite, can't blame him for an idiotic delivery policy.
Atrocious service. I tried to request an estimate through the website and the form simply didn't work. I then requested an estimate through WhatsApp, with measurements, and received no response. I checked in three weeks later and again received no response. I checked one last time, the following day, requesting an estimate and I was declined. The reason stated, was that my email alias included the businesses name. I offered to provide another and was declined. Disappointing that using an email alias would lead to a refusal for a simple estimate. And if this is the service BEFORE a sale, I'd hate to imagine what it's like after they've been paid.
Ordered a laptop on the 24th of July, for an item that promised overnight shipping. The morning of the 26th, I got a note saying the item was sold in store, it's been ordered and should arive in 7 to 15 working days. I then called on the 4th of August to check on the process of the order, and was assured it would arrive, that the supplier is sending the device and they'd inform me when it arrives. On the 7th I received an email, apologising for the delay, stating that they're awaiting my delivery and will let me know when it ships, guaranteeing it's in the right colour. Today, I received another email: Good Day. We sincerely apologize for they horrendous service you have received from us during your order. We unfortunately have been rocked by armed robberies and COVID and thus have to apply for business rescue. We therefore can not process any refunds or send orders out at this moment until the order has been granted. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and we will refund you with interest. We understand you are concerned and possibly furious but we ask for your understanding and patience as we ensure all refunds/orders are done. please note phone lines are off as employees were sent home. We sincerely apologize. Powerbite Management Their website is now down, so there's no way to collect contact details with any queries. Phone rings continuously. Looks like an exit scam if ever I've seen one.
