On the 12th May I received, after 4 months of frustration, a confirmation email that a product I had purchased and was not up to standard, would be refunded in full to me. The device went in for repair, under warranty. It disappeared under very strange circumstances only to resurface when I took to social media. Device was eventually returned but we were not happy so Takealot apologized telephonically and in writing via an email that they would collect the device and refund. Device has been collected and now I am getting emails saying it's still under consultation, and then tonight I get a notification that the refund will not happen.
Warning. DO NOT purchase a laptop from Takealot. I returned my daughters laptop prior to warranty expiring. The laptop was collected on the 1st February 2022 and since then I have had nothing but silence or evasive answers. No laptop, no refund, no service. I cannot get an answer from anyone at Takealot. I resorted to Twitter and get fobbed off with responses about the service provider. Communications only happen when I initiate it and then the responses are less than adequate. I have no idea what has happened to the laptop and I now just want my money back + interest or for a replacement laptop to the same specs. But I get no answers. Nothing but silence or evasion.
The shipper in Canada made an error in the paperwork. A friend has sent me a parcel to my work address (as she always does). Parcel is delivered to my work as I am at working during delivery hours. DHL want me to pay import duties because the parcel is being delivered to my work address yet it is a personal package. IT IS NOT AN IMPORT. We have been trying for over a week now to get DHL to correct their error to no avail. Package was due to be delivered today and still no word from them.
