I was bought a leatherman surge for my birthday, had it shipped from America. I opened up my gift to find that the product had rust around the pliers and the blades were covered in blood. I sent an email in and the reply I got showed the company was uninterested in helping with the reply basically being: "just send it back". It didn't take long for the one blade to get stuck so it cannot flick out and other parts to rust. So I must now spend more money to send the product back to America even though I should have received a new condition product to begin with? My family have sworn by leatherman, every person in my family owns one but after this we are all moving to another brand.
I bought a Russel Hobbs barista machine 2 years ago and it broke a day after the end of the warranty (actually the night the warranty ended) which to me is ridiculous since we pay extra for the russel hobbs brand because we expect the product to last. I contacted them to see if maybe I could get help and they took a week to get back to me, when they eventually contacted me they told me I am going to have to send it to johannesburg for repairs and I'm going to have to fork out more money on this machine. I liked this brand, I sell it and always recommend it to my customers... or atleast I used to .
