This was one of my most horrific online shopping experiences. My Scattered Heart (MSH) is owned by a woman whose name I won't mention here although it's not hard to figure out from IG. I purchased two items from her online store just shy of R2,000 on 30 September 2021. I then received an email on 14 October 2021 which said that she "wanted to want to sincerely apologize for the late arrival of one of our large orders coming from overseas" and that it was "due to arrive over the weekend and all orders will be sent out come Monday and Tuesday with dawn wing over night services." This should come as no surprise now reading the other Hello Peter reviews, but my order did not arrive. I emailed her on 29 October 2021 for an update on my order. No response came through so I privately messaged her on Instagram on 30 October 2021 to ask for an update on my order. I see her bio on Instagram says "On holiday ☀️". Her email does not include an out of office response nor does her bio give any indication as to when she is going to return to office, so to speak. Come 18 November 2021—almost a month and a half after I placed my order—and I see she is posting about her sale that drops that day. It seems she's back from holiday. I send her another message asking for an update on my order. No response. I respond to one of her stories. No response. I eventually comment on her Instagram post, which she posted on 18 November 2021, and leave a comment on her post asking her to respond to me. She deletes my comment and relays to me via DM that my messages were in junk. Strange considering she's a business and people she isn't following directly would be privately messaging her frequently, but I digress. She asks for my order number, which I supply, and says she will "revert back when we open at 8 x"—an interesting response, I think, considering I have been waiting for my order since 30 September, but I oblige. I send her a message on 19 November around lunchtime asking her for an update, which she reads but does not respond to. I then comment on the same Instagram post I originally commented on to ask for an update on my order. I don't even think the comment was there for 60 seconds, truly, before it was deleted. I send her a private message relaying how disappointing this experience has been by her complete lack of professionalism and inability to run her online store in an honest manner. She eventually responds saying she's sorry and that my order was on the top of her list that day. Interesting considering that I had prompted her earlier in the day but she couldn't be bothered to respond. I eventually had to resort to going through PayFast to get a refund for my order as it became clear to me that she simply didn't have the stock and that was probably the reason she's been unable to send it. Don't take my word for it though, you just need to read through the other Hello Peter reviews to get an idea. I also have a suspicion, as do other Hello Peter reviewers, that she operates under different names, such as by signing off as "Emma" as well as people pondering whether she's bought followers to bolster a false sense of credibility of the brand. In addition, going through some of her more highly rated reviews that seem out of place amongst the mammoth of terrible reviews on Hello Peter had me wondering whether she's had friends or family post positive things, but who knows. In short, her lack of remorse for how the situation played out was laughable and I have no doubt that this will happen again to another customer. I strongly advise that you do not buy from My Scattered Heart, unless you want Your Scattered Finances, and support other much more deserving and honest small businesses.
