Got ****med by them. I paid for an inverter which was never delivered and now they have gone silent.
We bought a digital lock from them on the 27th of March 2024. The lock was installed at a customer of mine and lasted only a week or two. We had to drive 300km to collect the lock in order to return it. They were not willing to refund us the money and wanted to give us the same type but the customer had already installed a proper Yale lock. In the end they deducted 20% from the refund money. The reason? We took more than a month to return it. These conditions were not specified on their little till slip, so we settled for the 20% "handling fee" in the end. The owner (a lady) was very arrogant and not interested at all in keeping us as customers for future. We will not buy from them again.
Had a very frustrating experience with Griin Energy. I phoned to confirm availability before I paid them and they confirmed they had all the items in stock. I Paid the funds over to them and two days later they said I can send my Courier...Long story short, it took me more than two weeks and hundreds of phone calls and whats apps to get my materials from them. They don't answer their phones and when you eventually do get hold of them they apologize profusely and promise to send the materials immediately, next day you have to start the whole process over again only to hear more excuses and promises. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Massive scam, they approve your loan very quickly but then you have to pay them an insurance fee of a couple of thousand Rand before they do a payout. The NCR number they provide is not theirs and they can't even spell properly. Fortunately I checked them out beforehand. When I threatened them with the NCR they said I can do my best!! You have been warned.
My nephew got married at Lace on Timber recently, We were impressed with the neat layout of the grounds and the Architecture, especially the Chapel. We paid R1200 to stay the night in one of the en suite rooms and was expecting the accommodation to be on par with the fee. The room was also very neat and clean with the same type of build as the other buildings on the grounds. The buildings do not have ceilings so as to expose the IBR sink roof. Although it is aesthetically pleasing it is definitely not practical. It rained for the most part of our stay there, so during the reception we battled to hear the speeches due to the noise of the rain on the sink roof. Coupled to the bad acoustics of the hall, we really battled to conversate and hear the speeches. Due to the Reception hall not having toilets inside, we had to walk about 60m in the rain to the toilets adjacent to the hall area. After the reception we retired to our rooms for the night, looking forward to a good night's rest. We were told that the rooms had Queen size beds, but found it to be a normal double bed - Not what you would expect for R1200 per night. We had almost no sleep due to the noise of the rain on the exposed sink roof and only fell asleep when dawn came as the rain relented a bit. Unfortunately our sleep was interrupted again by the cleaning crew starting to rake the gravel outside our rooms before 08:00. Check out time is an unusually early 09:00, so we just got up and decided to leave early as the R1200 did not include breakfast. In general our impression of Lace on Timber was that it is overpriced and trying to give minimum in return for our money. I would not recommend it as a Wedding venue, especially when it rains.
