Im writing on behalf of a colleague. She received a call from a SARS imposter Peter Nkosi, who legitimised himself by quoting her ID and other personal info, claiming a parcel at CT International airport. Supposedly sent by her to a recipient in Australia, was found to have drugs wrapped in clothing. He transferred the call from 081 562 2054 to Constable Mokoena at Greenpoint Police Station. Mokoena verified his land line number to legitimise himself, but the call from Nkosi to Mokoena was transferred to a mobile number 076 252 6871. Mokoena proceeded to harass and threaten my colleague about immanent arrest. Out of concern I called "Mokoenas landline” It was answered by a lady officer at Greenpoint PS who confirmed it was her extension and does not know Mokoena. She transferred me to a detective who confirmed the exact **** with numerous cases under investigation. This is a warning to the public not to be drawn in. If you are not guilty. You have little to fear. Do not volunteer information about yourself. If the police are pursuing a legitimate case, they will arrive with an arrest warrant at your door, not a preemptive phone call. The interaction with these ****s suggests they know their way around a police station. "Police moonlighting as ********s. The police I spoke to at Greenpoint who could not have been more willing to assist. It's terribly sad that two ****s on the prowl are able ***** the reputation of these good people. Police imposters and ******** police officers need to receive harsher sentences as a deterrent.
Our sudden increase in consumption suggested we had a water leak on our property. We requested COJ to check the meter calibration. After months of wrangling and waste, they decreed that we first employ the services of a leak detection company. I-Find Leaks conducted the investigation over a weekend so as not to inconvenience our tenants. The problem was identified and professionally rectified without delay. I now have a document identifying an issue caused by the absence of an o-ring in the connection made when old meters were exchanged for the new-blues by council and hopefully be able to recover money for being overcharged. It is worth knowing that whilst "ageing infrastructure" is blamed for countless spontaneous fountains in the streets of Johannesburg. Age is a distant second to gross incompetence by council! When area reservoirs run dry, void pipes fill with air. Public outcry is appeased when water is recklessly flooded back into the system. Its weight filling low lying areas first, results in tens to hundreds of atmospheric-bars of air pressure, forced to find a way out of the remaining system that is not designed for compressed air. (water is 1000 x the density and weight of air). Cracks develop and water then finds a way out. My regret is the wasted months spent trying to coax the municipality to investigate a problem they caused. Earlier detection would have resulted in an immediate solution, less wastage and a water account that is a small fraction of what I have been forced to pay. The lack of understanding and incompetence by municipalities’ mis-managing our water system, cannot be understated. It is a travesty.
Automobile Association Case reference number: 241009-8070 My car broke down enroute to work this morning. I called the AA via my FNB app to arrange for a tow. Charmaine Chane answered my call. Initially there was a problem linking my default AA membership with my FNB account. Most would have opted to dismiss me, but she chose to fix the problem, and a tow vehicle was summoned. Charmaine followed up several times to update me on progress and to ensure I was completely taken care of. The stress of the breakdown has been overtaken by an appreciation for Charmaine’s initiative and care in managing my situation. She is articulate, kind, willing to go the extra mile and a fine example of what people in the service industry could aspire to be. Thank you, Charmaine. People like you make the world a better place.
My newly replaced Lexus aircon compressor packed in. Presuming the problems to be minor, I asked C-Net to check it out. They ran some tests and concluded it needed to go back to Toyota under warrantee. I offered to pay C-Net for the time spent. They declined. The service I received was exceptional. I now regret going to Toyota when the aircon gave up last year. I believe I was overcharged and the original the problem has returned.
Luno makes it incredibly easy to deposit Fiat currency into the exchange and purchase Crypto. It is what follows after they have custody of your money where the picture changes. I am new to Crypto and have read extensively on the subject. I as many beginners imagined this to be a departure from the frustration of dealing with greedy banks. My experience with Luno leaves me disillusioned. My issue is with Luno imposing a monthly cap on the value of tokens I am able to self-custody in a cold wallet. I read all of the information provided on the on the Luno platform to try and understand why. Dissatisfied I posed a few very specific questions to the “help desk”. The reply amounted to irrelevant cut and paste phrases detailing how much Luno cares by promoting security conscious behaviour and anti-money laundering. I gave up after my third attempt after being gifted blessings from someone I do not know but represents an organisation I am now deeply mistrustful of. My message to Luno is. If you suspect my dealings are dishonest, please do not play policeman, but rather take the initiative and report my activities to the authorities. You have my ID number. It is not your place to interfere with how I invest my hard-earned after-tax money. If the “Luno support” is incapable of coherent replies or simply relegated to bots to mismanage. You are better off removing the facility. This would be an honest admission that your customer care service is non-existent, which it is. The converse of pretending is patronizing and frankly inflicts more damage on your brand. To those wondering whether to adopt Luno as the exchange of choice. Do your homework. Anyone and everyone with any knowledge in the crypto world, warns against leaving ones crypto on an exchange in the custody of people who claim to have your best interest at heart. FTX is the finest example of what happens to people who trust those who trot out phrases that Luno posts in defense of their internal protocols. Because there is no ZERO Luno gets just one lonely star.
We go back fourteen years. Home Theatre systems were only beginning to gain traction then. I searched far and wide and settled on Studio Matrix, not for price, but for quality of advice received. I have a system that other than the absence of smart features, has not dated. It is every bit as crisp and clear as the modern equivalent. My decade and a half year old Onkyo receiver recently stopped playing sound and I returned it to Studio Matrix for inspection. A few days later Gary, the owner mailed me to say that the fault was a simple re-set, software update and a cleaning service, which has been done. At no charge! In a world of perpetual let down in spite of claims of integrity and service by companies, this is a fine example of what service and integrity exemplify. It warms me to feel compelled to pen this note. Well done to you and your team Gary.
Hi. I wish to express my utter disappointment at poor quality of the 3M web page in South Africa. My search under the insulation tab, to investigate Thinsulate yielded nothing to work with that would enable me to make an informed purchase decision. Thermal and Acoustic tabs open a page with mostly void image fields and the limited content is vaguely related to the original search. Clicking on 3M Suppliers and Partners, directs one to Become a Supplier and Supplier Resources. But not a single supplier named! I hoped that a dealer would be able to answer my questions but the closest I came to a local supplier was in the UAE. How is it that it is easier to access, research and purchase your product from international suppliers, at a delivery premium, many multiples of the cost of the purchased item, when 3M advertises a formal presence in our country? The 3M SA web page is nothing short of a disgrace for a company that has operated in our country over four decades as I recall. Yet there is a wide and abundant 3M Product offering in our retail stores. It seems that the office of 3M South Africa is an open doorstop for product to trickle in, as a token presence to advance the company’s international image. Either your local directors and employees are not doing their jobs, or 3M corporate HQ is not invested! I suspect South Africa is managed from HQ in the US with bigger markets to focus on, hence the obvious neglect. I doubt this will receive the courtesy of a reply. A no reply will simply endorse the veracity of my experience and conclusions.
I found a particular CNC router cutter on the Perfect Laser Web site. Tried calling to confirm that there was stock. The numbers advertised do not work! Sent an email with a screenshot of the item. Received a reply to say they had three in stock. Called the number on the email. A lady answered. confirmed that I could make an over the counter purchase. When I arrived she presented a tool that was completely different in appearance and function. (star vs flat *****driver equivalent) A complete waste of my time! I am pleased to note that most customers award a four or five star rating to this company. My experience was different. I hope that they will respond with a solution. They have my contact details.
