Smooth booking process decent prices and then a whole bunch of words to get to 10 words
I was forced to use this medical aid due to joining a new organisation. It is by far the biggest regret I have about taking this job. Fedhealth has consistently forced me to jump through administrative hoops like requiring justifications for my mental health medication from my doctor, who has been treating me successfully for more than 7 years, during which time Discovery was my medical aid. I have chosen a similar plan to what I had on Discovery, and I am now paying more for medical plans, getting fewer benefits as they refuse to cover my medications, which have been successful in managing my mental health due to the protection of their bottom line. Forcing me to pay out of pocket for those meds. Their administrative platform and compliance are pathetic. When I queried why I had yet to be paid for a claim that showed as paid on their website, I discovered that although I had been onboarded, they had done so without capturing my bank account details. They also did not contact me for information when I could not receive payment. I have also tried to make a claim several times using their website and mobile app without the claim showing as received, despite receiving information that it had been received. When I spoke to a client service agent via their webchat, I was told that their claim system had been down for several days and that I should email my claim where it would be processed. When I experienced a relapse in my mental health, a medicine that they had been covering via chronic cover was increased in dose. When I queried why the chronic cover was rejected, I was informed that my doctor would need to send a new prescription with the higher dose. This claim for chronic cover was rejected and will require my doctor to write a motivation for increasing my dose. All in all, if I had to summarise my experience with this service provider, I would characterize it as unprofessional, expensive, inadequate, overly administrative and more interested in its bottom-line profits than the health of its members. If at all possible, refrain from joining as a member as the level of service and care comes nowhere close to a service like that provided by Discovery across all their plans
