Thank you to Halfway Howick for splendid service. After an initial bad experience I was so impressed with the help and understanding from Dealer Principal Jaco and Salesman Thami. My concerns were genuine and they were both kind and helpful. Every problem I had was dealt with speedily and with such efficiency. I’m very grateful to both of you and needless to say very happy with my new car. May I wish you both a really good 2025 and many more sales in the months to come. WELL DONE!
This is my 3rd time I have written about the same problem. Netstar deducted from my account for twelve years and I never renewed my contract. Worse still is that my correct details were never captured by them. THIS IS THEFT and I expect a refund. Reading through your reviews it appears that I am one of hundreds of dissatisfied customers. Customer Care is absolutely useless and they DON'T CARE. You answered my reviews saying you were sorry and that it would be sorted but it never is. PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO REDEEM YOUR ALREADY BAD NAME.
This is the second time I have written in about this and I was very impressed with Netstar as they acknowledged it straight away and said they would contact me. This they did, but I was never able to speak to anyone in authority. I am 83 years old and very hard of hearing so speaking to someone in a call centre is impossible. On the one occasion the man I was speaking to said it looks as if you need a refund and the woman who was listening in cut us off. The reason for my complaint was that I was paying Net Star monthly for twelve years thinking I was safe in this unsafe country. Netstar had no record of my details and I never renewed the contract. No one was able to send me proof of a signed contract. My husband died in 2010 and I bought a new car in 2012 and took out a 3 year contract. Why were my details not entered then? I do feel I am entitled to a refund of some sort. You can't go on debiting my account without a new contract. At least the debit order has now stopped but I am extremely angry that this happened . I do not want a ref no sent to me and then a follow up email saying the problem was resolved which happened each time I wrote to the customer care section. Please see that someone in authority deals with this. Today I saw a net star fitting out a neighbour's car with a tracking device and it was all I could do to stop myself telling them of my bad experience. The problem is these companies get too big and CUSTOMER CARE DOESN'T CARE.
Customer Service at Netstar must surely be the worst in the country. I have been paying for twelve years and they had no record of my car, name or tel number. They could not provide me with a document stating that I had signed a debit order and each time I spoke to someone I was either cut off or they said they would speak to another department. Gradually with each tel call they got all my info so now lied saying they did have the necessary information. The account was in my husband's name and I bought the car two years after he died. Even if I did have a contract I certainly did not renew it and in my opinion they owe me a refund. I am in my eighties and this is a case of unlawful deductions from my account. I asked to speak to someone in management but never succeeded and to make matters worse Customer Care kept sending me emails with different ref numbers and then a follow up email saying the case had been resolved. This must have happened 5 times. I will take this further as I have been totally ripped off by an unscrupulous company deducting each month with no signed contract. Customer Care don't care.
I recently took out a new contract with MTN stipulating that the phone must work with my Signia hearing aids. I was assured by two separate salesmen that it would and in good faith I signed the contract . However on getting home with the phone it only streamed through to my TV and not to my hearing aids or car phone. I informed them the following day and they worked on the phone and the app for an hour and a half without success. I was prepared to take out another contract and upgrade to an iphone. I was appalled by the don't care attitude as they flatly refused to take the phone back saying there was nothing wrong with it. The problem was with the incorrect advice from the staff and the fact that the phone is of no use to me the customer, and it is not what I asked for. My hearing is important to me and I am now stuck with an expensive phone and contact. I find this type of service totally unacceptable particularly as I am in my 80's and made it abundantly clear that I needed a phone which would be compatible with my hearing aids. I have been a customer with MTN since cell phones came to this country.

I am in my 80's and recently had a knee operation. I needed to buy a recliner so I went to Leather Gallery in Hillcrest and decided on a chair which was very comfortable in the reclining position. I paid for it and it was delivered a few days later. When it arrived I realized it was very uncomfortable in the sitting position as my feet could not touch the floor. I phoned the next day to tell them the chair was not suitable for me. I expected to pay for transporting the chair back to the store which is 6.3Km from my home. I was horrified when I was told that they would deduct a 10% admin fee which amounted to 1467.40. and to add insult to injury I was charged 607.50 for transport costs. So for returning a chair in mint condition I was charged 2074.90. They held my money for 51 days before refunding my money less the 2074.40. The service was so impersonal and endless emails were sent by me and never answered. Some 5 weeks ago I wrote a very polite letter to the CEO which needless to say was never answered. Their customer support doesn't support and their customer care doesn't care. I was really upset with the total lack of compassion and indifferent service. particularly as they could see I wasn't well and that I had lost my voice as a result of my surgery . Other Customers need to be warned as I don't know of another shop in Hillcrest which would not give a full refund.
