I rented a car from Hertz/Firefly from 15 December until 22 December. R19,000 was taken from my credit card as a deposit. As of 6 January, I have still not received my deposit back. Having my deposit returned to me should be basic procedure for a car rental company, yet despite numerous attempts I just can’t seem to get my money back. Please be careful when renting a car from Hertz/Firefly, it may be better to use a more reputable Car Rental company.
Be careful of Rain, they promise you the world but the signal is shockingly bad when there is any signal at all, but simply doesn't work most of the time. Then they try to sell you a more expensive package. But now that I want to cancel my account nobody will help me.
Please be careful with Capitec Business Bank. A large amount was paid into my account more than 2 weeks ago but quite incredibly they "can't find the money". Despite providing them with the proof of payment there has been no progress on this matter. It may be better to bank elsewhere, with a bank that can process a simple transaction when money is coming into an account. This may be hard to believe but it is a true story. There does not seem to be any problems with money going out, only with money coming in.
We purchased "lifelong tickets" to Ellis Park in 1982 when the stadium was renovated. These tickets are contractually valid for 99 years. However we have just been informed that they are no longer honouring these contracts.
I tried to draw cash 4 days ago from an ATM. But I received a slip "unable to process the selected transaction at the moment". I tried again but got the same slip/message. However the next day I noticed that although the transactions had been declined, the money has been removed from my account. I reported this right away to Mercantile bank, I even went to their office in Sandton. I have the slips and the shop owner has the video recording. But I just can't seem to get my cash back (total of R5000). This is not a good customer experience at all!
I have been trying to open an account for 10 days now. No progress and even more worrying is that there is little or no feedback. Not a good experience.
