I have been a client with Matrix for the last 7 years. I have never really had any problems up until the time I sold the car (with the tracking device installed) and needed to cancel my subscription. My first email was 27/06/2022. I requested cancellation and I was given the following case no. 11328121. I even went as far as to give them the new owners details in order for them to continue the business. I then asked for confirmation in writing that my subscription has been cancelled, and I am still waiting... Today I see another debit order has been taken off from my account. I spoke to a consultant name Linda from customer care and she advised that cancellation takes 20 days. I don't mind paying the last payment, if I am due to pay it. My problem is the lack of communication. I got an email back from Mixtelematics with a case number. Why was I not given confirmation of cancellation as per my request. This type of service is becoming endemic in SA these days. Companies just do as they please with little to no consequences. I see from the spate of reviews here that I am not alone and this company needs some sort of wake up call. I will no longer be using their services!
Signed up for Rain in Oct 2021. I got little to no reception in the area I was staying so I decided the service was not for me. Little did I know that I was being billed on a monthly basis (I was under the impression this was a pay as you go type of arrangement).. My fault for not noticing that. I eventually picked it up on my Apr 2022 bank statement that they billed me for April 2022 and that they've been billing me all along. I cancelled it immediately (25 April 2022) only for it to go off again in May 2022. I have just got off the phone with Rain and they had advised my account has been closed but they bill in arrears? Strange.. when I signed up I paid up front. Be very wary of this crowd. The company I work for has a lot of staff working from home and a lot of them use Rain as their ISP (I suggested they use them). They will be advised of my experience and I will forward names of other alternatives
I first submitted my application for the Natis document for my vehicle on 02/02/2022. I was then advised that this would take 7-10 days in an email back from MFC on the 03/02/2022. In the same email I was then asked to provide proof of settlement (paid 18/01/2022) which was provided on 08/02/2022. The case was then referred to their legal and collections department (to Henry Masima). I was sent an email on 04/04/2022 which advised that I still owed R20,784.21 with a settlement amount of R9,487.67 which left me bewildered, as the settlement was negotiated and paid on 18/01/2022. I have since received communication that my account has been settled in full. I purchased the vehicle in 2015 and I have not had any issues with MFC up until now. How is it, that a finance house can take a day or two to finance a vehicle, but when it comes time to review a settlement and provide the documentation it is almost at the 3 month mark and there is no clear indication when this will be sorted out.
