Mould found in sliders
Purchased 20 wings and chili sliders using Uber eats from Chicken Licken Gateway branch.. my husband and I had eaten 3 of the sliders already and I was just about to take a bite of the last one when I noticed the mould on the bun. Being 9 months pregnant this really scares me. I called the branch immediately and the staff member took down my number and said she will get the manager to call me back. It’s the next day and I’m still waiting for a call back from. Such disgusting pathetic customer service despite the food not being up to standard and being dangerous.

Pathetic Service
Utterly disappointed with this place. Wasted our time driving there. We love a good rack of rib so we’ve been wanting to try this place for a while after seeing their page.. turns out we were the only customers when we got there on Saturday evening which is very surprising as all other eating houses in Umhlanga were full . The Waiter came to take our order and we were told there was no alcohol available because they had a big party the night before so it sold out. We placed our order , he then went into the kitchen and got back to tell us the pork ribs were out. So we opted for the beef ribs. He then went back to the kitchen and got back to us and said the beef ribs were out too. What a joke .. we ended up leaving the place. What kind of place caters just for one day and runs out the next ? Who is in charge of stock ? Why doesn’t the waiter know before hand that the main items are sold out ? Who really runs the place ? Why didn’t the manager on duty come to explain or apologise for what happened ? Won’t be supporting such a place in future. It’s a pity.

Disappointed customer
Drove all the way to the store on Saturday only to be told on arrival by the security guards that they are closed Due to Eid. It is understandable that there are times when a store would be closed but it’s advisable to update their website on such an occasion as not everyone has the same beliefs and is aware of such a holiday. I tried calling but the phone just rang, they would have had an automated message informing one of the closure of the store. I checked the website and times but nothing was stated online. Very disappointing and a waste of time and money getting there and having to go back home.

Happy customer
A big thank you to Tim and his team for making our anniversary dinner so special. I Previously experienced an issue with their closing time, so I called the restaurant to complain about this. I Spoke to one of the owners called Tim who asked if we could give them another chance.. and said it was important for customers to come back. We made the best decision by going back and giving them another chance, we experienced such amazing service from the waitress Zee and bubbly Kayla who made sure our dinner experience was nothing short of perfect. These girls really made our night. Zee thoroughly explained the specialities and she had great knowledge of the menu. Kayla was so hospitable throughout the dinner and made sure everything was on point. The food was great and atmosphere was amazing. They went out of their way to gain back our respect and I don’t regret it one bit. Thank you once again for making our night so special. We will definitely be back.

Turned away before closing time
Utterly disgusted and disappointed with the service at this place . We dined here a few nights earlier and had a rather pleasant experience. The Food was good and waiter was friendly. We asked about the closing times and we were informed that the kitchen closed at 10pm on weekends. We had our family over all the way from Richmond and planned to take them for dinner on Saturday to Grimaldis keeping their closing times in mind. To our surprise when we got there just after 9pm we were greeted by the staff saying they need to find out if they can seat us , they went to the back then came back and informed us the kitchen was closed already. Extremely embarrassed we informed them we were told the kitchen closed at 10pm on weekends. They said they spoke to the owner and he said it’s closed already. I asked if there’s a specific reason and they said no. Their restaurant was very busy just as well as Umhlanga. I will never be supporting this business in future. We dine regularly in Umhlanga and we will never go back there. As someone who works at one of the well known hotels in Umhlanga and get asked for recommendations regularly , I will be sure to share my experience at Grimaldis with the guest and
