I’ve followed up for nearly 2 months. The delay is apparently due to Eskom trying to locate equipment/material linked to a contractor who no longer works there. This internal issue should not prevent my connection. Escalations acknowledged my case on 23 April and said it was referred to Acquisitions. I followed up on 28 April, 4 May and again after 5 May when I was promised an update “by midday tomorrow” — still nothing. I’m moving into my home within 2 weeks with no confirmed installation date.
I am deeply dissatisfied with the service I received from Takealot. I ordered 8 items from them and only half arrived and 1 item I didn't order. Some of the items are for my daughter's birthday. I have phoned and messaged them a multitude of times but I feel like I am being sent from pillar to post. All I want is the items I ordered. They say they can only send it after they collect the item that is incorrectly delivered but they aren't sending anyone to collect the item.
