My father-in-law who is a pensioner took over my old Inverter and I bought them a new 4.8K LithiumION battery which was running just fine as a stand alone solution. My father-in-law then decided to purchase some Solar panels from Affordable Power Solutions (APS) to connect to his inverter; this is when the fun started. Since then we have had intermittent issues with the installation, experiencing mini brownouts. After numerous callouts and multiple different technical teams, APS came to the conclusion that the cable used to connect the inverter to the DB board was not thick enough. So my father-in-law forked out R7k for a cable to run from the inverter to the DB board. After two days of them trying to get the inverter and DB board working, they left site. Saying the inverter was off. So my father-in-law called them today and they said it was an issue with the inverter and we should call a electrician to come out. So in frustration I called my original installer to come out and fix their mess, we have just found out that the APS's 'Electrician' connected the terminals the wrong way round and blew the main board of the Inverter. I still cannot believe how dishonest APS is, they said it was an issue with our inverter. Knowing full well that they had fired the main board. If you want an honest, reliable installer, rather look at MSR Solutions; https://www.msrsolutions.co.za/
I had a contract with Savika to protect my late mothers property. Needless to say, the property got broken into and vandalised and I ended up with a R18k water bill because I was not notified that the alarm was not on; even though the contract clearly stated, System Management Monitoring: for mains fail, Open & Close & Low battery. When asked my recourse to re-coupe the costs, Rachael from Savika said they are not an insurance company and passed me onto Trevor, who I assume is a manager. After some backwards and forwards with Trevor and threats to cancel my contract. I eventually agreed to cancel the contract.. Just a warning, do not do business with Savika. As they are not an ethical business and will not stand by what they are contracted to fulfil.
I got a call from them on the 1st April around upgrading my Vodacom Contract, so I agreed to it, on condition that when my contract expired on the 1st May, I would be able to go in store and upgrade my handset. Surprise, Surprise on the 3rd May i went in store to upgrade my my handset. I then get informed that my contract has been upgraded and I am unable to upgrade my handset. So I call Mondo to reverse this on the 3rd and have been battling with them for a month to get this resolved. Surely this is illegal with the NCR..!
I am writing this to complain about astronomical charges on equipment. I have just spent over R20k with Savika to upgrade the security at my late moms house for outside beams and CCTV system that was installed a week ago. Supposedly now the keypad has 'blown' mysteriously and supposedly unrelated to their installation. So i decide to get a quote from Rachael at Savika for a replacement key pad and a Centurion digi keypad for the pedestrian gate. I got the quote today, it was an eye watering R4,700. When I did some research on the internet, what Rachael wanted to charge me R3,600 Ex.VAT for, I could get from SecurityKing for R1,700. When I confronted her on this, she says that they do not install 3rd party equipment purchased from Takealot. Supposedly they supply, install and give a full warranty; oddly enough there is no mention in their quote on this much vaunted warranty. I would caution anyone doing business with Savika, be sure to double check their pricing, so they do not take you for a ride.
