Very poor service - this so called security company has been asked repeatedly by my complex's managers to Programme my and other residents' remotes. Despite 2 weeks of asking the have not bothered to do anything. This puts at risk my complex Bangalore Mews Sunningill.

I regret to share a deeply disappointing experience with Savika Security, specifically regarding their handling of a serious incident involving theft by one of their guards. On a night when Savika's guard was assigned to watch our house, we discovered that valuables were ******. We have clear evidence supporting this claim. I promptly contacted the owner, Emilia, who assured me that the guard would undergo a polygraph test to determine their involvement. However, after waiting over two weeks and sending multiple follow-up emails, I received a response stating: "With reference to the below – I herewith confirm the following: The guard was taken for a polygraph however, as there is an outstanding amount of R1 495-00 for guarding services rendered – no further communication will be forthcoming until same is paid. Looking forward to payment so we can release the results accordingly." I find this response absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. It is outrageous that Savika would withhold crucial information regarding a theft investigation due to an unpaid amount, especially when that amount is in dispute due to the guard's misconduct. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and has shaken my trust in Savika's ability to provide secure and reliable services. I strongly advise others to consider this incident before engaging with Savika Security. A company that prioritizes a minor payment dispute over resolving serious allegations of theft by their own staff is not one I can recommend.

We were with Special Ops 99 for three years and service has deteriorated rapidly since they merged with Savika. Now, it’s just a terrible company with terrible response times, if they even respond at all. Their customer service is laughable- from their control room to their salespeople and even directors. Their processes make no sense- they’ll say they send an automatic dispatch when an alarm goes off, but this has never happened. They often take up to 30 mins to respond to an alarm. When you press panic, they call you before sending someone. If you’re under duress, won’t you just have to lie? Of course they don’t tell you all this fine print stuff when you are signing up. If you complain about response time, their main excuse is always “there are too many other calls in the area so we have to prioritize”. If you call the team out on neighborhood forums, they say we are making them look bad (verbatim response from Trevor Reddy to us). They will gaslight you, lie to you and never once take accountability for their atrocious customer service and ********** service delivery. For your own safety and peace of mind, do not use this company.

We were with Special Ops since 2019. Initially we were very happy with their service but over the last year or so we have noticed fewer and fewer vehicles in our area. On the 12 of November we were let down by Special Ops so badly I emailed them notification of instant cancellation. After this email (copied below) I did not hear from them at all, not even an email acknowledging that I had emailed them. In the email I sent I copied in both managers trevor@savika.co.za and izak@savika.co.za as well as accounts shirley@savika.co.za. Eventually I could not wait for acknowledgment any longer and on the 27 November 2023 I called their offices and eventually managed to speak to this manager Trevor. During our conversation he said he had not received my email. By this time I was completely disgusted as to how badly they had failed me in my most vulnerable time of need. Trevor then accused me of threatening him as I told him that if I did not receive assistance I would take my matter to Social Media. He then accused me of threatening him. It was at this time that that I was completely shocked and advised him that I had been threatened and I was completely disgusted that he was talking to me in this manner and asking me if I was threatening him when it was me that had been threatened, that I was the one who had been in danger and been threatened. My life had been threatened and Special Ops/ Savika had completely failed me. I then told them that as they had failed to uphold their contractual obligations which I pay a monthly premium for, that I cancel my contract effective immediately and that they must send someone to collect their equipment from my home. I have not heard back from them either to collect their equipment or goodness, an apology. Instead they have deducted their monthly premium as well as an additional R253 for some service fee. Yes I do notice that they have refunded me the R253 but I have not heard anything or received a refund for my deducted premium of R517.58. I will now approach my bank for a payment reversal. Even though this will cost me R325.50 I would rather the bank have the money than Special Ops/ Savika after the way I have and have not been treated. Copied below is the email I sent them on the 13 November 2023 This message was sent with High importance. Kerri Lehmann-Poultney Shirley; izak@savika.co.za; trevor@savika.co.za Mon 2023/11/13 16:15 Dear Shirley, Trevor and management at Special Ops This is a letter advising Special Ops that we are cancelling our contract with them effective immediately! Last night we had a situation where I was looking for my cat that had run away, due to the bombs that the neighbors were letting off for Diwali. I was in the street and the drunken neighbours heard me and came out and started taunting me. Eventually they were threatening me with violence. They threatened my life. I was completely unsafe and needed assistance! Both my wife and I pressed all our panic buttons over and over... we pressed both the panic buttons on our remotes as well as the panic buttons attached to our walls in our house. We then called your number for assistance. I was told that they could not assistance me that I had to put the phone down and call 082911! Up till right now I have not heard NOTHING from you and still no one has even come to our premises to see if I am alive or not. You completely failed us in our time of need which is the exact reason we employed your services! I am shocked, disgusted, outraged and cheated of our monthly service fees!! I cannot describe how disgusted and let down we feel at your lack of services! I was in a situation where I was threated with bodily injury which could have led to my death and I get told you cannot help me!!!! My wife has in the past used alternative numbers to reach you and none of those numbers worked either. I am cancelling our contract with you! I am signing a stop order with my bank and no further funds will be deducted from my account in respect of Special Ops!! I have paid my monthly service fees and you have not provided the service, as such you are in breach of contract! You did not fulfill your side of the contract! Kerri Lehmann-Poultney 071 689 4773

These company should know how disgusting and rude their staff / guards are. We were trying to get into our property and a bakkie of theirs parked us in. They were attending a neighbors property. The guard would not move his vehicle - flat out refusal . When talking to him he intimidated us and we landed up having a verbal confrontation just to get in our yard! Shocking, appalling behavior. Not sure what service they offer but on 1st impressions stay away from this company.

I had a contract with Savika to protect my late mothers property. Needless to say, the property got broken into and vandalised and I ended up with a R18k water bill because I was not notified that the alarm was not on; even though the contract clearly stated, System Management Monitoring: for mains fail, Open & Close & Low battery. When asked my recourse to re-coupe the costs, Rachael from Savika said they are not an insurance company and passed me onto Trevor, who I assume is a manager. After some backwards and forwards with Trevor and threats to cancel my contract. I eventually agreed to cancel the contract.. Just a warning, do not do business with Savika. As they are not an ethical business and will not stand by what they are contracted to fulfil.

Most unprofessional and corupt business I have ever had to deal with. We did a accident tow for them and charged R 2850.00 which is the standard going rate. They are not insured on the vehicle we had to tow. They say they only pay a trade call charge of R750.00. When you call the phone is dropped at reception 7 times on you. Rachael says she is paid to make payments and was told by the owner who is Emi not to pay. I have requested a call back for the past 2 weeks from Emi or Dino and no response from either of them. As the owner I would expect that they would prefer that this matter is resolved in an amical manner but instead they prefer it to become a public matter. .

I am writing this to complain about astronomical charges on equipment. I have just spent over R20k with Savika to upgrade the security at my late moms house for outside beams and CCTV system that was installed a week ago. Supposedly now the keypad has 'blown' mysteriously and supposedly unrelated to their installation. So i decide to get a quote from Rachael at Savika for a replacement key pad and a Centurion digi keypad for the pedestrian gate. I got the quote today, it was an eye watering R4,700. When I did some research on the internet, what Rachael wanted to charge me R3,600 Ex.VAT for, I could get from SecurityKing for R1,700. When I confronted her on this, she says that they do not install 3rd party equipment purchased from Takealot. Supposedly they supply, install and give a full warranty; oddly enough there is no mention in their quote on this much vaunted warranty. I would caution anyone doing business with Savika, be sure to double check their pricing, so they do not take you for a ride.
