I bought a Univa 199L Eco-friendly Myltimode chest freezer from Takealot on 8 Nov 2025 and it was delivered promptly on 14 Nov Dec. I wanted to send it back to takealot but Takealot only take returns within 30 days. The date of wanting to return the freezer was within the time frame to the day, however a message from Takealot site says that they do not take responsibility and that we would need to contact the supplier. I went onto the Univa site and set a message as they do not have contact numbers available. I to this date have not had a response! One would also think at least that if Takealot does not take resposibiliy that they give contact details on who can help. No electrican wants to open the machine as they say that that will affect the warrenty. Perhaps leaving this review will help and I get at least a response and have someone from Univa to send a technition to repair and assess the freezer.

A representative from Manpower Labour & law visited our Guesthouse to sell 10 documents that are not required on the misleading sales pitch that we 'needed' all 10 to comply with the labour act. This is completely untrue but unfortunately my husband was 'hoodwinked' into paying R2587.50. On the invoice there is no landline only 3 names with cell numbers and a gmail account! The mobile phones go to voicemail when called. We have recently and often have appointments with Labour and Health and safety inspectors and are completely compliant. Dont let this company sell you posters you do not need! be well warned. I will update my review should we be refunded which is what I have demanded.
I did a lot of Christmas shopping in the Waterfront store. Staff helpful and even had my gifts wrapped. However, you need to check pricing!! I overpaid by R1000 on a mini-pod!! Was told that I could return it and buy elsewhere. I have kept the gift as time did not allow for me to return.
I bought 2 pairs of shoes on 2 November and recieved them in Port Elizabeth as I live on a farm. On trying them on some 2 weeks later they found them to be most uncomfortable and asked to return them. An email came asking if they were still in same packaging (cheap plastic packet)and they added that they must have been used! I replied that they could be returned in same packaging and that I had not used them. I have still not received any reply after this after sending 4 emails!! I do not recommend this product and certainly do not recommend this company!
