Free State Province embarked on Operation Vala Zonke (fixing potholes) sometime in August 2022.This campaign was aimed at closing all potholes on the roads and curb fatalities. The operation went on for a week of two, since then it has been quite yet we are travelling on dangerous roads. There is a huge pothole (not even a pothole anymore but excavation) on the road from Vaalpark joining R59 to Vereeniging and Meyerton. That pothole has been there for years and not attended to. It is even worse in rainy days because it get filled with rain water and become invisible. On the same curve before the bridge, there are small deep potholes that become invisible when it rains and becomes a hazard to motorists and cause of damage to vehicles. We urge municipality to speed up the closure of those potholes because they are very dangerous and unsafe. Let us not wait for people to die then we put actions into place. Loss of one life due to bad road conditions is too many. Let us be proactive rather than being reactive. As we embark on the vehicle safety campaign, let closure of potholes be the first action to be urgently addressed. We humbly request.
A syndicate used a fake ID with my details to upgrade on my account and purchased two phones. I picked up from the first debit order that something is not right. I called Vodacom customer care and the consultant confirmed the upgrade. I was advised to log a dispute and submitted the dispute form and supporting documents to Vodacom fraud department in August 2022. Auto generated email stated that the matter will be investigated and I will get feedback within 14 days. This is the third month and I have not been contacted by Vodacom with feedback, yet every month money is being debited from my account. I sent follow up emails to fraud department but no response. I called fraud department line several times but no one is picking up. I'm really angry especially when it comes to monthly debits, I will not pay for fraudulent phones. I did not do the upgrade nor authorized it. Vodacom consultant should have verified the details of the syndicate against what was on their system. They have failed to do their job now I have to suffer for that. I need that account to be cancelled with immediate effect and debit orders to be stopped. I am also entitled to get feedback after investigations. That activity was a pure fraud that even a child could see, looking at the contracts issued. I don't know why is taking Vodacom so long to resolve this. Please cancel that account and stop debiting my money.
