On the 17 March 2023 I was approached Medicnow marketing staff. I was told that I was a winner of an umbrella and a T-shirt for being a loyal customer of Capitec Bank. I was asked to verify my acc no and asked to enter my pin. I saw the figures of 225 on the handheld card machine and asked what it was. I was told that is my bonus points collected so far on my account. I asked why is the amount the same as the premium fee for Medicnow and the reply was again bonus points. I went immediately to Capitec and discovered that I signed for a debit order. This is fraud and extortion. I phoned their office to complain and spoke to a Bagetta? And she told me that she will cancel the debit order. I reported this to the SAPS and hopefully this company will be charged with fraud.
On 2 Nov 2022 I went to Cash Crusaders Primrose to pay for my extension contract that was due on the 3rd Nov. I was informed by the staff that their system was off line. The next morning I was at the shop to renew my contract. The staff told me that my two cellular phones (1x Nokia 1 Plus 16GB and 1 x Mobicell Click 5”) were stolen from their safe. I was also informed that Cash Crusaders will reimburse me for the two phones to the sum of fair market value less the settlement value. The value of the two phones is R1899-80. However, if the settlement is deducted from the capital amount, there is a deficit of R1219. The imbur*****t will not enable me to purchase the same two phones from a dealer. My property was left with Cash Crusaders in good faith and thus the company is responsible for the loss and for the settlement amount. I therefore demand the amount of R1899-80 in full without any deductions. I paid a visit to the shop again on Sat the 5th to speak to the manager but he was absent. The personnel promised to phone me on Monday the 7th. No calls were received on Monday. I phoned several times but there was only voicemail. So I travelled to the shop to see if I can find the manager. The manager was not very helpfull and not competent. He phoned the owner and the answer was not satisfactory. I requested to speak to the owner but the owner refused. They want to reimburse me only with R680.80 after the settlement fees are deducted from the their selling price and paid. So I have to pay first before I receive my money back. I am a SASSA pensioner and need the money for transport. The dump manager even said that people want money but they have no money. At this moment I have lost my 2 x phones and received no money back. If Cash Crusaders reads this, be assured this matter will go to court and the NCR and the CGSO will also be notified. You people are making money from the poor. shame on you.
