I went to Burger Huyser after a con artist stole my life savings. It was quite traumatic. There was not much progress until Maryke du Toit was given my file. She made things happen. She is clearly competent and knows what she is doing. She took my call even when she was off sick at home. She goes over and above the call of duty. She did not have my file in front of her being sick at home but she remembered every step she was taking and gave me an amazing progress report. She is very professional. Her time estimates for each stage is spot on. She is very proactive and does not waste time moving on to the next step. I cant wait to see how she corners this career ******** con artist. Maryke is a true asset to Burger Huyser attorneys.
Beware of Vodapay when buying BP Fuel vouchers. You pay for the BP Fuel voucher which gives you a 5% discount. The money goes off your bank card and then nothing happens. You don’t get your BP Fuel voucher. Very embarrassing when you at the garage. You then have to find some more money to buy straight from the garage. What happens when all the money you have is what you just spent on the BP fuel voucher from Vodapay and you don’t get the fuel voucher to fuel up your car ? I spent almost 2 weeks on their online chat on Vodapay. That is the only way to communicate with them. They have no phone number. (Surprising for a Cellphone company). I went through 3 consultants and 1 Team Leader called Maurentia who all promised to fix it. Nothing happened !! This means they stole my money. What do you call taking money from someone and not giving them what they paid for ? THEFT !! So be careful when buying BP Fuel vouchers with them. They don’t care about not giving you what you paid for.
I recently moved home and had a lot of extra furniture and goods collected over the years that could not fit in my new home. I found Rosettenville Pawn Shop online who buy furniture and appliances. Tania made the arrangement for the buyer Chad to come out and view my goods. Chad paid on the spot and took all my unwanted goods away on the same day. It was a perfect service !!
I was moving from 1 apartment complex to another apartment complex in Johannesburg just 2 km from each other. I thought it was going to be a simple and easy move because of the short distance. I searched online for reputable movers and came across Buzz Movers which had great online reviews. I fell like a sucker for their pictures of Buzz Mover truck, smiling worker faces, uniform of their workers projecting a professional image. The disaster started from the time they arrived. I was shocked when only 2 workers arrived to move an entire apartment. 1 of the workers came in Flip Flops. He looked like someone picked up from the streets. I knew with Flip Flops which had no protection for his feet he would damage the furniture on the floor rather than buffer the impact with protective shoes when placing the furniture on the floor. Wilco is the white man who was co-ordinating the move. When he quoted me on WhatsApp, Buzz Movers say they “Have ample blankets to protect your items like they are our own, Offer on-site bubble wrap before loading, provide amazing staff for a painless, pleasurable move experience & Goods in Transit Insurance.” I fell for this false reassuring ****!! Their people came with NO BLANKETS, half a Bubble Wrap roll which covered only a few items, their 2 people who did the move was pathetic. I found 1 of their Flip Flops in the passage & I had to pick it up to give to him. I felt that this was wrong. How can Movers be moving bare feet? It is a recipe for disaster. Their Goods in Transport Insurance is a **** as when I tried to claim, they asked for all the photos showing the damages which I did and then they turned around and said it only covered Fire, Accident & Hi Jacking. How misleading is that? They also have no integrity. We had to be out of our building by 4pm which Buzz Movers knew. The 2 workers where not going to make it. We eventually stated doing the move of some items with our own car and packaging ourselves. I even had to buy buff tape. I felt this was wrong as this is what I paid Buzz movers to do. I sent Wilco pictures of us doing the work. He said we will be compensated. This did not happen. When a company has no integrity and does not keep their word you will lose time and money when dealing with them. I called Wilco over 10 x in the day reporting the mess that was unfolding in front of me eyes. Wilco said there were supposed to be 4 workers which I paid for. Only 2 arrived. The 2 workers could not lift the heavy furniture by themselves and resorted to dragging on the ground my expensive Genuine Leather Lounge set imported from Italy. This is now totally wrecked. I asked Wilco to get in the car & come fix the problem & that is when I discover he is based in Port Elizabeth. If you don’t have a locally based moving company to step in when things go wrong you will be in big trouble. The 2 workers took what they could. Buzz Movers sent a bigger vehicle with 3 workers. I was asking the 1st 2 workers to stay and help the other 3 as time was running out. As I was talking to Bright the main person of the 2, he then walked away and could not be bothered. I was talking to fresh air. How rude and disrespectful? (this is the Amazing staff that Buzz Movers talks about in their WhatsApp marketing message to you. When their 2nd truck came they had NO BUBBLE WRAP. Wilco said they had 50 move Blankets. I looked in the back of their truck and only found 5 move in blankets. Once again I was **** to. What I found out was Buzz Movers users a sub contractor called Thabo to do the Johannesburg jobs. Thabo is an unreliable person who constantly lies about what time they will arrive & how many workers are coming or if Bubble wrap is coming. With his limited number of workers he takes every job that Buzz Movers gives him. This Greed of Thabo makes him to do reckless things like sending 2 people for a 4 x man job. You will pay the price of Thabo’s greed by him damaging your furniture. Their website said they are the only company that offers a full money back guarantee. This is a lie as they did not give me a cent back despite the fact that their workers dragged my furniture on the floor, I had to buy the buff tape which they charged me for in the quotation and Wilco said that I will be compensated for it. They paid me nothing. They ****. They took my money, damaged my furniture due to their negligence and have now moved on to their next victim & could not be bothered. I paid Buzz Movers to do the move. Had I known they were going to use a Sub Contractor I would have used a different moving company. This lack of Integrity, transparency & honesty was quite disappointing & I paid the price for it of damaged furniture worth over R100 000 . I then get a Letter by Buzz Movers Operations Manager, George Deysel who said it was not their fault ( now the blame game starts). They did not know there was a staircase, they thought it was a house (Wilco knew it was an Apartment who did the quote), The inventory was more than was expected (I gave them the list & we moved some of the items ourselves) etc. He never even bothered to step in & call me when he was informed by Wilco that the job was a mess. The bottom line is their strategy is to apologise, don’t take responsibility, say they are going to do something & then don’t pay you anything for damages caused by their their negligence & move on to their next victim. If you looking for a traumatic, horrific, frustrating, disappointing moving experience then use them.
Best furniture removal company in South Africa. Professional, Precise. Awesome follow up. Constant feedback from them. Moved from Durban to Johannesburg at a better price than anybody else. Had a nightmare experience using another Furniture company who arrived late, damaged furniture, I had to constantly run after them for feedback & they made it seem that they were doing me a favour to take my money & move me. Horrible Experience. I wish someone told me about Elliot. They are truly amazing !
