Title: Still waiting for my deposit refund – Budget Cape Town Airport I rented a vehicle through Budget Car Hire at Cape Town International Airport from 2 January 2026 to 7 January 2026. Booking reference: ZA876128210 Voucher number: ZA888241690 Confirmation number: 36196240ZA3 The experience was extremely disappointing. On 2 January I waited roughly 2–3 hours in the queue before being assisted. The staff member who helped me explained that they were short on vehicles and that customers were being given alternative cars because they did not have enough stock. The car I eventually received was in poor condition. I accepted it only because I had already waited for hours and had no alternative. When I returned the vehicle on 7 January 2026 at Cape Town International Airport, the car was returned in the same condition as it was given to me. Due to the long queue at the desk, the staff member simply told me to proceed without any proper inspection. Despite this, I have still not received my deposit refund. I have tried calling and emailing multiple times but have received no resolution. This is unacceptable. Deposits should be released within a reasonable timeframe once the vehicle is returned without damage. I request that Budget Car Hire urgently process my deposit refund and confirm when the funds will reflect in my account.
To whom it may concern: I work abroad in Saudi Arabia and I have been struggling to cancel a contract since 2020. I have sent so many emails and no one could help me yet. Many emails were never even answered. Some MTN representatives even blocked me. On January 16, 2023 I’ve sent another email. Eventually on January 25, 2023, Andre Bowden responded with an email saying I have to pay R710.00 to cancel the contract. Please find proof of payment and email from Andre Bowden attached. Even after this email, the debit order continued to go of. In March 2023, I travelled to South Africa and tried to sort this out. I went to the MTN branch in Langenhoven Park, Bloemfontein. The lady there assisted me and we called the cancellation department. The lady at the Call Centre told me that my contract was never canceled and that I have to pay R250.00 to cancel my contract. She said it will be canceled within the hour, and she will contact me once it has been cancelled. She never called me back. Today another R468.00 was deducted from my account. I don’t know what to do anymore. I have been trying to cancel my contracts with MTN from 2020. I have several email. I can not keep on paying for something that I am not using. Lee from Bloemcell has tried to assist me several time, but we had no luck. Many of the customers service representatives blocked me. So I can no longer send any email. I’m going to the ombudsman to sort out this issue as this was not resolved within MTN. I’m not in South Africa which makes it impossible for me to sort this out.
