<div>OLD GOODIES ANTIQUES, PARKVIEW SHOPPING MALL, PRETORIA We are having a very negative experience with Old Goodies Antiques, Parkview Shopping Mall in Pretoria. It is a shop that sells second hand goods and antiques. My mother in law was moved to frail care in November 2018 when *****, the store manager, offered to put her household goods on consignment on the floor with a 50/50 split. I provided her with my banking details and the agreement was that they would pay our 50% as the goods would sell. After numerous telephonic requests and no monies paid, she provided us with a list of goods sold on 22 July 2019. They still did not pay any outstanding monies, although the outstanding amount was R27 478,75 at the time. In September 2019 we consulted an attorney to handle the case and we tried to accommodate the owner, Johan Fouché, by accepting weekly instalments of R5 000 as agreed upon by the attorneys on behalf of the two parties. Since then he has only paid two instalments instead of six. I would really caution people to do business with them, they prey on you when you are most vulnerable and then they cheat you out of the monies owed to you. </div>
We contacted Timbermann to have a wooden deck installed. We asked at the time for a non-maintenance deck, that was our one and only requirement. This was confirmed in an email dd 4 March 2015 (I have all the emails to proof this). In 7 month's time the deck looked so dried out and weather beaten that we contacted Timbermann to treat the wood which cost us R5 517,60 at the time. We had to have the deck treated at very high costs regularly and the last time we made use of another supplier but with a similar product. Even before the last treatment the planks started to fall off at places, it cracks and warps up which can cause an accident should someone trip over it, which they fixed everytime. So we asked for a quotation from Timbermann again. The treatment cost 4 times more in only 4 years time, they charge us R22 385 and then ‘generously’ offered us some discount. I informed Mr Kriedemann that I am going to pursue this matter by accepting the quotation where he assured us in the abovementioned email that we have the choice to not have to treat the wood ever, that it was a total misrepresentation. I also requested that they then only fix the broken pieces and tighthen all the loose *****s due to poor workmanship to prevent one of our guests or ourselves from falling over the loose boards. Thereafter I will make use of another timber company which is more affordable although our plan was to never have to maintain the deck. I received an email from Mr Kriedemann stating that the high cost is due to the one time that we made use of another supplier which is absolutely nonsense. The initial cost of the whole deck was plus minus R180 000, so we are not talking small change here. They will also not fix the loose planks and *****s. What course of action should I take?
I need to inform you that according to my experience there is no worst institution with more incompetent, unprofessional and untrained staff than Telkom. The short end of my story is that I placed an order in April for my ADSL to be moved to a different room in my house. This morning I learned that my previous order number is no longer valid. I made 4 appointments with Telkom and subsequently bought 4 flight tickets from Johannesburg to George to be present for the installation. When calling Telkom on the day of said appointments I either hold for anything from 30 minutes +, get cut off, order cannot be find or whatever lie the person can think of at the time. I urge you to listen to the recorded phone calls, made from ********** 429 or ********** 784 to confirm the frustration that I went through. According to the lady I spoke to this morning, the job has been completed. I have no response left that will justify what I think of this. I will be passing this on to social media as well as any other media outlet. It is not even worth mentioning all the nonsense your personnel have been telling me as a paying customer, I mostly hear all the background laughing, shouting and eating which is of course very typical of an institution where there is no management.
