I opened an Old Mutual money account in the 13/12/2023. I made my first deposit into the account from my Capitec account and it was immediately suspended. There are no limits placed on how much one can put in the account in the terms and condition documents sent. I then went to the branch to enquire where I was told that Bidvest was investigating the source of the funds and I had to submit proof of payment and proof of residence. I was told that it would be sorted in a week. There was no communication the rest of December. I went again and sent countless emails, they did not assist. I called Old Mutual again in January to follow up, instead of enquiring on my behalf they transferred me to Bidvest. They told me that they had started the process to communicate with Capitec to confirm the source of the funds and promised it would be sorted that same day. It still has not been sorted and I still do not have access to my money. I keep calling and being transferred from one department to another.
Horrible service. Bought a laptop in April 2021, returned it for repairs in June and they brought it back with same problem. Returned it again in September and they brought another laptop (diff brand) saying it’s the replacement. 2 months later I see the statement reflecting that I’m now paying for 2 laptops. I called the manager and they said they investigating. I sent back that laptop since I did not order it and I’m stil paying for 2 laptops that I don’t have in my possession and they stil investigating in 2023.
