I was left stranded with all my luggage after missing my flight because of Etihad Airways misleading information on my booking ticket and check-in. Etihad Airways customer service, complaints, aftersales etc support does not exist. They do not care about what happens to you should something go wrong with your flight and they don't get back to you about refunding your money even though it's their fault. Etihad Airways do not care about you as a client, once they have your money you're on your own. I have phoned Etihad, emailed Etihad, asked for support on their online portals, got a case number but no response. It has been just over a month now with absolutely no support. I've always considered Etihad Airways and used them in the past and referred family and friends to Etihad Airways but after I went through with this costly and traumatic experience because of Etihad Airways misleading information and absolutely no customer support I strongly recommend that anyone considering using Etihad Airways reconsider using them. After having to book another flight to get home I found that Ethiopian Airline was fantastic with I short layover and could have taken more check-in luggage than Etihad Airways offers. I'll be continuing onto all social media displaying my tickets with the misleading information, screenshots etc. Flight MXRQ7G Ref number 2506124756496
Please be careful when getting invitations for a free holiday with this company. They will get you into the holiday mood by showing you these dream holiday destinations and how "affordable" they are. What they don't tell you is that you sign up for a 15 year contract and that you can only apply for an "Early Termination Request" in the 7th year. I was ****med into signing another contract close to the no fee cancellation date because it was supposed to be a month to month lease. Went from a week away to a weekend away at almost double the price(only did this to get out of the original contract). Almost seven years down the line I filled in and sent the "Early Termination Request Form" in August 2023(have all emails). Checked in to confirm in June 2024 that this is my last month with VRS/ LPS and weekend away(at R24000, crazy). I am now told that I am liable for all fees for 2025 because of a R350 admin fee that was meant to be paid before April 2024. I have all emails and no where does it state that R350 needed to be paid before April 2024. They will keep avoiding the point you are making with all the proof you have that you have done your bit. I am not paying for fees after my occupation at Crystal Springs in June 2024, we are done and if you guys try and damage my credit record I'll make it my mission to sue for compensation.
I have been with VRS/LPA since around 2008. Paid my monthly account fee and capital balance without fail. We were called in by VRS/LPA agents while away on holiday at Caribbean Estate for an offer of an upgrade. I told the sales agent that I am not interested as I am close to my 7 year no cancellation fee and will be immigrating in the near future. The sales agent insisted that I cannot just cancel as it is a 15 year contract but she can put us on another package that is on a year to year lease. The "year to year lease" was way more expensive and we'd be downgraded from a week away at Caribbean Estate to a weekend away at Crystal Springs(R24000 for a weekend away). Now that the time has come to cancel the "year to year lease" I have been told it is a 15 year contract and I must pay R15000 to get out of it. I kept recordings/ voice notes between the sales agent and I to prove I was assured it is a year to year lease but when played to the cancellation agent I'm told that it means nothing and I must still pay the R15000. Years ago my family and I lost our points as there was never availibity, you think they would reimburse me.... not a chance. If you are looking at holiday packages rather put your money away and approach companies like LekkerSlaap who will give the same holiday and same dates at a fraction of the cost without being ****med into overpriced 15 year contracts. These sales agents are well trained with their choice of words. No one in VRS/LPA care how they ruin you financially as long as they got the sale and commission.
On the 1st of August 2023 First Help towed my dad's vehicle to their depot in Kew JHB after my dad's car stalled at an intersection and rolled backwards into another vehicle, unclipping the front bumper. The First Help respondents insisted my dad's vehicle had to be towed for assessment even though it had no damage. My dad told them he only has third party insurance and to his knowledge does not cover towing, besides he only stays 200 meters from the accident scene and his vehicle is drivable. The towtruck driver(not mentioning the name) then asked what insurer is my dad covered by and asked for my dad's details. Within minutes my dad got a call(private number) from his "insurance company"and the lady(not mentioning the name) assured him that he is covered and that the vehicle has to be towed. My dad got three calls from the private number. The next day my dad contacted First Help to find out when he can fetch his vehicle but was told he owes First Help R12500. My dad contacted his insurance company to find out what is going on and they said there is no lady working for them by that name and no call was made out to my dad from them. He is not even covered for towing. My dad does not have that type of cashflow lying around and refuses to get it paid out of principal to people like that. I've seen numerous reports about the same **** First Help pulls by posing as an agent from your insurer. Well done First Help for ****ming a disabled pensioner out of his vehicle. Please check your staff as you have some very dishonest people working for you. May your stomachs be full selling his vehicle off as a code 04(abandoned vehicle). One day we must all answer to God.
