The definition of security
I live close to an electrical sub station. Due to previous incidents the Brakpan municipality has deemed it necessary t hire a security company to protect said sub station by using the services of a professional security company. The sub station is walled with 8ft walls and has a steel gate which is licked by the guard from the inside. However, every morning, since this company has started securing these premises, the guards voming to change shift have had to stand a blow the hooter and bang on the gate to wake up the guard inside because he is obviously fast asleep - at between 05h00 and 05h30 evey morning. Isn't that nice?? Must be the perfect job. Play all day, come to work, lock yourself in, and go to sleep - and get paid for it!!! I have complained to the "guard commander/supervisor"? who drives the vehicle bringing the change of guard and it went better for two days. This morning they lay on the hooter, shouted the guards name at the gate and banged on the gate - at 05h30 in the morning!!! What is the point of having a guard on duty and paying him to keep the place secure if he is allowed to sleep on duty??? Its not impossible to get in, hence the need for a guard. I wonder what they'll do if soneone gets in and slits the guards throat while he's askeep?? Don't they have two way radios?? SDS PROTECTION for those of you who are looking for security guards. Not a good representation if you ask me. No consideration for the residents living clise to the sub station never mind next door or across the road!!

Poor service
The Miway toll free number is no longer in service and Miway is aware of it, yet the number is still advertised as the 'go to' xontact number. I contacted Miwat on the Toll free number this morning 4 July 2023 (also several times in May) and the system response was that the number does not exist. I managed to contact them using the land line number. Because Im a pensioner using pre-paid airtime on a cell phone, I requested that Miway call me back. I was told that my request would be forwarded to the clains department and they would call me back on my number. That was at 9am this morning. It is now almost 1pm and Im still waiting for a response.

Carnival Midas needs a new manager that knows how to run a business
I have a very conveniently placed Midas Spares shop close to my home in Dalpark 6 Brakpan. Ive been shopping with them for years. Recently their best sales person passed away and the business service has just gone down the tubes. This used to be a thriving business with many products on their shelves. The number of products available has been steadily decreasing and now the shop looks bare, the shelves understocked, as if management doesn't care. For more than 6 months now, there is absolutely no pricing on any of their products, not on the product itself or on the shelf. There excuse, "the label printer is broken". Service has gone from "its such a pleasure doing business with you" to "I don't know why I still bother coming here". Really, its just not worth it anymore which is a real pity, because they used to be my 'go to' for all spares and automotive products.
