Subject: Disappointment with Service and Contract Termination To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from Cartrack regarding the transfer of my tracking unit. Two years into my three-year contract, I contacted Cartrack to arrange the relocation of the tracking device from my current vehicle to my new car. During my conversation with your representative, I was informed that there were no available fitment staff for the next three weeks, requiring me to wait for the transfer. Unfortunately, by that time, my current vehicle is expected to be sold, leaving me unable to ensure access for the removal of the tracking unit. When I raised this issue, I was told I would incur a charge of R1400 for the unit, despite the circumstances beyond my control. Additionally, I reside in Durban and will be flying to Johannesburg to pick up my new vehicle before heading to Kruger Park for a week. Having a functioning tracking unit is crucial for my safety while traveling, as it significantly reduces the risk of hijacking or theft. However, I was informed that if I wished to install a new unit in Johannesburg, it would cost an additional R660. Ultimately, I found it unacceptable that Cartrack could not transfer the unit in a timely manner but was willing to charge me R2100 for a workaround solution. Given the urgency of my situation and the inability to fulfill my needs, I made the decision to terminate my contract with Cartrack. I will arrange for a new tracking unit to be installed in my new vehicle in Johannesburg, which is essential for my peace of mind and insurance coverage. As a result, I will incur a penalty of R2650.00 to exit the contract, as I cannot wait for the tracking unit transfer that is not feasible within my timeline.
