I recently wanted to open another investment with Nedbank. Because of the size of the amount it was not possible to do it on my app and had to visit a branch. First of all I was forced to open a current account that I did not need in order to open the investment. There was supposed to be no monthly fees so I did. Never used it but then their rules changed, so monthly there was a fee deducted from the balance. In the branch the assistant opened the account but as the money would be transferred from a 24h notice account, I had to go back to the branch the next day. Then I was told she could not deposit 2 mil into that account so she opened another investment account and did the investment. I asked about the open account and was told " just leave it dormant it will close after 30 days." A few days later I did a transfer from my 32 day investment to my 24h notice for purpose of paying SARS. The money did not go into my monybuilder 24h notice acc. but instead into the dormant 5 year inv acc.!! Yet another trip to branch and after hours was told it is definitely a bank error and will be rectified. It has now been 3 months the investment went ahead and apart from having R100,000 less available am stuck with a 5 year unwanted investment. Efforts incl. hours on the phone with so called customer service. Time to depart from a long relationship with Nedbank
I am over 76 old so then travel insurance becomes an issue with multiple criteria and increased premium. I did not find it so with Allianz! applying was fast, with very friendly response and at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, during my travel abroad had a medical issue and needed to claim back. Same very speedy response and within 10 days my claim was settled. I will in future not hesitate to take out my travel insurance with Allianz and can honestly recommend it.
Thank you Hellopeter. After posting I did receive swift reaction from Momentum and Metropolitan. I trust both matters to be resolved soon.
Unfortunately there is no room for zero stars rating, so I had to rate one.I have been struggling for months to get a response or reply from momentum regarding change of bank account for deduction of my Metropolitan policy that I have paid for decades! Momentum also made a short payment of my annuity, but just ignore my request for an explanation. I am disgusted to say unfortunately this company also holds my pension/ annuity money!,
