I am not a person that likes to leave a bad review. Especially a 1 star rating but if you are dishonest then we are going to have a problem. I was looking for memory for a laptop. It is a little rare memory but I knew Partmaster will have the memory needed. I send them an Email for a price and delivery. They send me a quotation, R425 with delivery. The memory is for an older lady so she had to save a little bit. Was past a week and a quotation is only valid for 7 days. So I asked for a new Quotation. They had it over R700. I send them an email and asked how this is possible. They did not respond. I spoke with the lady and she said it is fine but she has to save a little bit. I though I will help her. I am not well off but we needed memory as it only has 4GB It was again past a week asked them just to resend a quote. They had it at R1100. This is from R400 to over R1000 in 3 weeks I know higher up DDR4/DDR5 did slightly go up in price but this should have No effect on DDR3 that is like 12 years old. This is dishonest as they know it is rare and try to milk people. As much as I need the memory. I will not pay for DDR3 the same price as DDR4 memory. Sorry, I will never contact them again as this is very bad business Practice.
I have mixed experience with Evetech. The reason why the rating isn't higher is their weak customer service. I think their products are great at an affordable price. I had 2 bad experiences. First. We went through to by my Nieces PC which was an AMD with an A320 Mobo. I asked them to update the bios for win 11 compatibility. They gave me an attitude *That is Standard* Got back home and it was not updated. Second. Usually I built my own pc's but we urgently needed a PC for my brother for his work/personal. We ordered a pre-built. PC arrive and did not switch on. Opened the PC and nothing was plugged in. I send them an Email about it. I told them it is fine as I am Tech and can fix it myself but what if an old person ordered the PC and got home and it did not work. You cannot expect them to drive 60+ km for you to fix it.... They never gave me a response. Advice. Get your staff up to scratch regarding customer services. I am a web dev and respond within the first hour to any client.
Good Day Everyone. I trust you all are doing well. I started my own company this year. We are still small. The main problem in South Africa is that small businesses do not give a lot of support to smaller companies. So my business partner told me about Amptek South Africa. So I sent them an email as I am first going to start an affiliate shop. Now for me, time is important. I am IT + Web Designer and I have little time. I asked them a few questions regarding how it works and I got a very Satisfying response and their prices are reasonable. They are based in Cape Town and I am In Gauteng. Their delivery is cheaper than the shop close to me. I went to a computer company to buy a motherboard and they told me same-day delivery. I waited 3 days and nothing. That means I lose business. Amptek actually told me from the start that it would take 3-5 working days which is universal as 90% of companies use this method. Just the positive responses I got convinced me to go into business with them. Because we are small, Bigger suppliers don't even give us a second look. We sent out a lot of emails and the only company that responded was Amptek I hope for a professional and long relationship. I am still new but just the response tells me they are passionate. There is a saying *Do what you love and you will never have to work in your life*
My old I7 motherboard blew and I thought I will order a motherboard after finding them on facebook. They are cheap, they told me same day delivery. I ordered a Motherboard from Philip. They gave me the price and I went to draw the money. He told me the courier forgot to take the computer parts.So I let it go and he promised me that I will have it before 12 the next day. Ok that is fine. We had loadshedding ( South African Power cuts ) so I thought OK they are coming from Johannesburg + loadshedding and they are in one of the busiest highways so they will not arrive in time. Power came on 14h00 and I got a message that they just left 1 pm. I waited and he never came back to me. I am IT as well and I give myself 30min to find a fault in a pc and 24h turnover when repairing a pc mainly for stress test to see if it's stable. When I build a pc myself I stress test it for 48h to make sure there is no faulty parts. I ordered a screen card from Durban about 600-700km away and I received the screen card in 7 hours. That is from 600+ km away. They are not even 60km and they take 2 days and it is still not delivered. No offense, that is why I do not deal with sales person Because I worked for 1 of the biggest computer companies in the world and the clients always came to me because the sales do not know what they are selling. I lost 2 days of work because they did not follow through with their promise. I have a lot of work. I work most days till 10-11pm so I expect when I order something, it should be here in less than 24h I will advice people to stay clear from these IT/Sales people that does not know what they are doing especially if they post on Facebook market place.
