Now in order to fully understand, Absa bank needs to give you a statement, on the statement it will reflect figures. Interest rate is important so are the deductions are for what services. A bank 🏦 in any system derives its income from fees and interest rates above the prime lending rate from the reserve bank. Government makes a profit from banks charging the prime rate of the country, the repo rate is set at government rates. Depending on the economy of the country. Banks like Absa have been shown to charge a fixed rate or Jibar rate to customers that have been handed over (Lending money or funds to each other). Making the battle to prove your claim, very expensive. As an attorney, (client scales rates) are signed between Absa and the attorney at rather ambiguous rates. The catch here is Absa never outlays any funds unless appealed and costs are given to a respondent, which rarely happens in the South African Legislature. Frowned upon, by many senior older judges. Instead, the respondents are made or suggested to pay the costs of the applications filed from the Absa attorneys, this Absa never outlays a cent. Rather ingenious. Though given your initial request for a statement, as your statement should reflect the same figures. Naughty Naughty.
