I had an extremely disappointing experience with TechAir Group (www.techair.co.za - reg no. 2024/589003/07) and their affiliated technician from Kelvin Refrigeration Solutions. While their quoting process and website appeared professional, the actual service was far from it. I was quoted a figure that I understood excluded parts, yet the final cost increased by nearly R1000 for the replacement of a capacitor and fan motor. Despite informing them in advance that a long ladder was needed, they arrived with a short one and had to borrow a ladder from another contractor nearby. The job felt rushed because they had to return the borrowed ladder. After full payment, I received an inaccurate report and had to follow up daily for over a week to get the correct report and invoice. Each day came with a new excuse. I only received the proper documentation after threatening to file a formal complaint with the National Consumer Commission (NCC). To make matters worse, the technician Kelvin, who completed the work on behalf of TechAir, was rude and dismissive. When I followed up and firmly requested the outstanding documents, he repeatedly cut the call while I was still speaking — completely unprofessional behavior, and Donald from TechAir kept declining the call saying he's unavailable but never returned he call. TechAir has no physical address listed on their website or Google, and they are unreachable by phone. This lack of transparency should have been a red flag. I’m sharing this to warn others — please be cautious when dealing with TechAir Group or Kelvin Refrigeration Solutions.
I've been trying to have my fibre line over to my new address, for over a week. Today marks my 4th attempt to get answers from them. Agents cannot provide me with status reports, nor do they have case numbers FNO details etc. other than the sentence "it is escalated". and when you ask questions they cannot answer you get automated call center responses and the end the chats!!! Escalation means nothing!
