Worst company to ever deal with. Such high and might attitudes. I cannot understand how they are still in business. They handle Third Party Claims for C***** SA which is another company that is dragging South Africa into the mud. I suppose the less MCB pays on claims against C***** the more they get paid.
On the 11th of July 2022 one of C***** SA trucks ran a yield sign and hit my car on the drivers side. We were behind the driver all the way through Riverside Road and he kept bumping into the curbs. Same as he turned into Brownsdrift Road. I am not sure if he was still drunk from the weekend. He got to his assumed delivery point in Park Boulevard Centre. Decided to turn around and knocked into my car. I have been back and forth with MCB (Claims Adjusting Bureau (Pty) Ltd) trying to get my claim paid out as I was not insured at the time. My vehicle is costing apprix R42k to repair. They had some assessor from Status amend the quote to R36k. Then came came with "Without acceptance or admission of liability and without prejudice to the rights of out insured or ourselves but solely in order to resolve this matter in an amicable manner, we hereby offer R12 061.24 as full & final settlement. Our offer is based on a 60/40 apportionment in your favour, calculated as follows: Your Damage – assessed at R36 562.81 x 60% =R21 937.68 Ours repairs at R24 691.10 vat exclusive x 40% =R9876.44 Yours- R21 937.68 less (Ours)R9876.44 = settlement of R12 061.24 Had you been keeping a proper lookout, travelled at a reasonable speed and exercised the necessary caution, you would have been able to see our client’s vehicle proceeding over the stop street and avoided the incident" When I submitted my towing invoice they declined to pay that. The ombudsman is of no use and neither is consumer watch. It is sad that C***** SA takes such advantage of the little guy.
