Review: Trinity House Little Falls (2025 Grade 8 Experience) In 2025, I enrolled my son in Grade 8 at Trinity House Little Falls. He had previously attended a Catholic private school and was excited to experience something new, especially a school so close to home and carrying a strong reputation under a well-known education group. His first term went well academically. However, during the second term, his performance declined significantly, particularly in Mathematics. As a proactive parent, I arranged additional support through AGP classes and private tutorials. During this time, I became concerned that he was struggling to adapt to the teaching methodology. I raised these concerns with both the subject teacher and the principal. Shortly thereafter, my son was formally charged for an incident involving him and other learners. Due process was followed, and he received detention and a six-month behavioral warning. I had no issue with disciplinary procedures being app**** where necessary. However, the six-month warning began to affect him psychologically (stigma). After careful consideration, I decided to remove him from the school and re-enroll him at his previous Catholic school, where he was warmly welcomed back and supported. What disappointed me most was the lack of engagement from Trinity House upon our departure. There was no exit interview, no follow-up conversation, and no apparent concern about retaining a learner whose family was paying over R13,000 per month in fees. As a parent, one hopes that schools prioritise nurturing and development, especially when challenges arise. To parents: My advice is to conduct thorough research before enrolling your children, even at schools that appear prestigious. Reputation and branding do not always reflect the lived experience of learners. Each child is different, and it is important to ensure the environment truly supports their growth and wellbeing. This was the right decision for my son, but I believe parents deserve transparency when making such important choices.
