My mother purchased a brand new red GWM Jolion from Haval Rustenburg on 10 November 2025. Shockingly, the car broke down on 22 December 2025 with a “Gearbox Overheating” warning after only a month of use. The dealership collected the vehicle promptly, but since then, no diagnosis has been provided, and the car has been left at the workshop for over two months. The service and response from the dealership have been terrible and disrespectful. She was first given a courtesy car, which was later taken back after being sold to another client. She was then handed a heavily branded GWM bakkie with no diesel in it, while the previous courtesy car was taken from her with a quarter tank of petrol. Not only was this unfair, but expecting her to drive a vehicle covered in dealership branding means she is advertising for them, despite being deeply unhappy with their service. A brand-new car should not break down within a month, and the dealership’s failure to provide timely updates or proper courtesy arrangements has caused her great inconvenience.
I opened an Ackermans account last year and I have made sure that I pay my instalments on time, every month without any hassles. Last month, I was trying to pay my account via EFT, and instead of paying R500 I accidentally paid R5000 from my mobile banking app. I immediately contacted customer care and they told me which documents I needed to send in order to get a refund. I submitted all the required documents and was told that I should expect my refund within 5-7 working days. Over a month later, and I still haven't received my refund. After numerous phone calls to the Ackermans call centre and hearing different stories every time, I am not happy with the service that I am receiving with regards to getting my refund. I know that if I owed Ackermans that amount, I would've already received a letter from the creditors or lawyers and getting threats to get blacklisted. But now that I am just a number to them, it doesn't matter that I need that money back to pay my other bills. I am so disappointed with Ackermans
