Renault Northcliff appear to be very helpful right in the beginning but please do not be fooled. I am extremely disappointed with their service. I brought my car in to them to have my timing chain fitted. I was in quite a desperate situation because my previous mechanic completely stuffed this job up and he had damaged the engine. He said that the engine had been repaired but I wanted Renault Northcliff to do the fitment of the chain. The minute that my car was brought in and the state that it was brought in I think they though: "Great here is my chance to try get as much money out of her as possible". They fitted the timing chain but they then insisted that the engine is not running properly. In order to fix this it was going to cost upwards of R50K. I told them I could not afford this and when my fiance went to go and see the car HE noticed there was a water pipe leak. This was not due to Renault's damage but how did they miss this leak? I then had them fix the leak. Few days later I went to fetch my car, brought it home and smelled fuel. After popping the bonnet I saw a massive fuel leak at the one fuel line. Now, I know nothing about cars but I still spotted the leak. How did they miss this? I will tell you how- they were too busy trying to get me to do a complete overhaul of my engine that they missed TWO leaks. They allowed me to drive home with a fuel leak. This is extremely dangerous. Then, I asked them for the part to fix this leak. Do you know I am still waiting on this price 3 weeks late? I got tired of chasing after them that I sourced it elsewhere. Not only did they miss two leaks but they also agreed to write a report for me as to what work was done on the car and the condition the car was brought in as. I have not received this report despite numerous requests. They are extremely helpful until you bring your car in. Then it is about how can they milk you for the most money without actually focussing on just fixing the car. They make promises they cannot keep and they have extremely poor after service. The fact they allowed me to drive my car with the leak is disgusting and I am very lucky nothing happened to me. Either they need to focus on getting the actual job done and not try and focus on trying to get the most money out of someone or they need to hire more skilled mechanics who would spot a leak.
I went to Renault Clearwater today in order to inquire about a part for my car. I have had the run around with a mechanic (not a Renault mechanic) who stuffed up my car. All I needed to complete the restoration of my car was a simple piece of fuel line pipe. When I arrived I walked through the doors and not a single staff member was at the entrance to direct me. A very nice gentleman from the workshop spotted me and asked me who I would like to speak to. I told him that I wanted to speak to the parts manager to buy a part. As we walked through someone asked me if I was sorted and I said I was following the gentleman. He said to the gentleman "Make sure she is here to spend lots of money". Clearly this is the attitude they have at this branch. Please read on as to why I say that. Anyway, I speak to the parts manager. He doesn't try and understand exactly what I am looking for. I don't know the technical terms but he's already made up my mind he can't sell me the part I am looking for. That the fuel line system is extremely complicated and he needs to know which pipe I am talking about. Bear in mind he is a salesman and not a technician. He said he can't bring in a technician to speak to me. Had a technician come I am sure he could have told me what pipe I needed and I'd be on my way. Instead the parts manager told me the best would be for me to bring my car in and have a diagnostic and they can fix it from there. I don't need a diagnostic I can physically see where the fuel is leaking and what part I would need. He further told me it's not safe to drive my car and if I drive it and it's leaking fuel then It can cause a spark and go up in flames and then I'll be sad because it will be my funeral. This is extremely upsetting because this is pure ************ to get me to spend unnecessary money to have my car diagnosed when all I need Is a simple part that my fiancé can fit for me. I am disgusted in the attitude at this dealership and they clearly are out to rip the ring and make money. Do not support this dealership.
I would like to write a review about Oneplan Insurance I am really very happy with the turnaround of assistance with one plan. They are certainly not like other medical aids or medical insurance that I have heard about. Never an argument with regards to processing a claim and super efficient. Just dealt with Rutendo Adelaide and was very very happy. Answered all my questions and her response time was so quick. 7am on a Saturday. Amazing
