I used a company called Master Movers for many years, for all our family's removals. Great company. After selling my daughter's house, we put a lot of her furniture in storage, and paid monthly storage fees. After a few years, we decided to move the furniture out, selling what we didn't need, due to the cost of storage. However, in the meantime, the company had been bought by somebody else, and the name changed to Metro Movers, run by one Rohan Preece, in Cape Town. Rohan offered to arrange for the sale of our goods on auction, and to then pay us the proceeds. The auction took place in October last year, and we still haven't been paid the R5k owing to us, in spite of numerous promises, in writing, from Rohan. Disgusting. It is clear that he has no intention of paying us, which means I will now have to investigate Small Claims court, etc. These guys are definitely not movers you can trust. Avoid!
Unfortunately I have two Samsung flatscreen TV's. The one is playing up, as the volume suddenly drops down to zero, and can't be increased. This is an intermittent fault. It is a 32\. So I call up the so-called service centre. I must bring it in for them to look at! Excuse me. It is wall mounted, I point out. Tough, is their response. What if I pay for their guy to come and disconnect it. Not interested. No way. This is not \" Samsung Policy \". So now what? I am not technically minded and don't have a clue how to do this. Absolutely pathetic. This was from the Parow branch. They only have 3 service centres in Cape Town. Parow, Durbanville, and Century City. The Century City's answering service informed me that they were closed because it is a public holiday, which it is not. I am in Oranjezicht. Pity the people in Simon's town, who would have to schlep to Parow to get a problem sorted out. You have been warned. Disgusting service. "
