Last night my son, a student, had to go and pick up a friend from the airport. He stopped at pick-up. Through the glass he could see his friend, but his friend did not see him. He just went to the door to call him. Getting back to his car, his wheel was clamped. There was NO manager to speak to and the very arrogant parking attendant charged him R2 000.00 to unclamp the wheel. YES, R2 000.00 (TWO THOUSAND RAND) It is ridiculous. There was NO senior person on duty to talk to, they threatened to tow his car if he did not pay immediately. R2 000 is an enormous amount to charge for unclamping a wheel for no reason. Is this even legal. Not R200 or R500, BUT R2000.00! Who has that amount of money to just pop up. Even worse a student. I will consult with my Lawyer this afternoon.
Still waiting for my car after a full month. Al they say is that they are waiting for a part. As to how the car ended up with them is another question. My accident happened in Centurion and it was discussed and confirmed with Santam that my car was on it's way to Precision and Sons Panelbeaters in Centurion. Next thing we hear is that my car has already been stripped, the Assessor has already approved the claim and that it was in Zambezi. Quick Quick. Legacy also did a quote on pirate parts and not original Ford parts. Therefor a much cheaper quote. This is very suspicious of kickbacks and under the table dealings. No answers from either Legacy or Santam.
