I bought a standing uplighter lamp from takealot a month ago. When it arrived I assembled it and found the bulb to be missing (please note that it should be included as per the online product description). I logged a return with special wording that I only need them to deliver the missing bulb. When the courier arrived to bring me the missing bulb he said that they don't do that and I have to send the whole lamp back for the return to be processed. So after about 2 days Takealot has the cheek to tell me the lamp is in bad condition and they can't process the return... (note that it had never been used as ther was no bulb provided and their courier or warehouse staff have damaged the lamp while in their care as it left me in pristine condition). Takealot have subsequently sent me about 20 email messages from different clueless returns handlers and each request I have made for their manager to phone me results in yet another useless person sending me a question I answered weeks ago. Takealot - at this stage I would rather read by candlelight than deal with your returns department again. Please refund me my money now.
My experience is that this is a poor quality product. It worked for the first few months then stopped working and wouldn't start the engine anymore. Continuous fights with the dealer who said Maxim wouldn't honor the guarantee (battery was under a year old) and I was put in contact with the rep who told me the battery was damaged and that's why the guarantee was void. I asked for a formal report on the battery assessment and received nothing. I then had to fight for them to return my battery so that I could at least get a refund on the lead and they returned a different battery. Please avoid these people like the plague and support an established battery brand.
