My Sister in Christ lost her Brother he died the 12th of July, he stayed with her and she took care of him as he suffered a stroke and was challenged in many ways. The Brother had a funeral policy that they brought through the Shoprite/ Checkers chain stores as per the receipts they received after paying diligently every single month, on the receipt is written, Freedom Life R430./ Insurer as per receipt is Old Mutual Alternative Risk Transfer, of which i know OM is the underwriter, i also know that OM might not be aware of this, but be as it may the benefit was a funeral policy and it never defaulted, however my Sister claim was declined, a straight forward funeral policy. She went to shoprite in search of help of which they promised to assist. I am seeking justice as this is unacceptable and she still needs to cover funeral costs as she had to loan money. One thing certain my experience with OM has always been a good one and they find every reason to pay. If its a broker as per the receipt please give this your urgent attention as the policy was purchased at shoprite and we have all the receipts to validate the claim.
My Father bought himself a clientele life policy in 2012, my father was not well and the last 3yrs he told me his daughter not to worry about him he would bury himself. I was aware of the policy as my father let me handle his affairs. To cut a long story short my father passed on, a Minister of the gospel and he knew he was going to have a big funeral as he impacted many lives. Can i say this when i submitted the claim i was told 24hr to 48hr and i would be contacted by an assessor, my father was buried still today an assessor has not contacted me. The policy was up to date; all necessary documentation was completed, but still not a phone call. The ombud should intervene as this is bad. If it were not for OM where i in my peronal capacity covered dad i dont know. They paid out into my money account whilst i was still in the client service centre. I will not leave it here i am going to claim for pain and suffering, i will fight clientele to the highest courts. I am super angry as they dont care a damn about people as long as they can collect monthly premium at the claim stage they have a list of papers that needs to be completed by Drs i don't understand all this, but they take your money to give you a problem at the end of the day. Shame clientele i had a high regard for you but you showed how much you just dont care. Please let your assessors contact me, or i will seek help in the highest courts.
